Longtime, proven design with updated internal controls. Still provides a manual, analog experience. The thermometer indicating current room temperature lags approximately 3 degrees lower than the desired set temperature. This difference was observed while using a dedicated, stand alone, precision thermometer. Missed the mark on quality.

Temperature reading is fairly accurate, but the "set" temperature is about 4 degrees off. In a space that is 76 degrees for example, you have to set the thermostat to 80 or more to get it to turn on the heat.

It's a basic non-programmable thermostat. Lack of features should not translate into lack of quality. I expected better from Honeywell.Read full review

Wish I had purchased the CT87K rather th...

Wish I had purchased the CT87K rather than the CT87N. The CT87K is meant for heating only which is all I really needed. However the CT87N can also do that but has additional functions I do not need. I am using the thermostat as a standby in case my battery powered programable thermostat has a failure (which it did), or the batteries die while I am away during a frigid winter spell. I set the Honeywell at 55 F and I know the house will not freeze up. It is basically an insurance policy.Read full review

Easy to install, no muss, no fuss, and just gets the job done.

We went through a number of smart thermostats and they just weren't working for us so we decided to go back to a trusted old-school variety. This thermostat has been awesome at maintaining temperature and switching from heat to cool. And it came with a plate to cover all the stuff on the wall from the previous oblong models. Honeywell thermostat

Not My First Honeywell Round

This is a great thermostat for people who don't want a programmable one. The price was right and I have never had one fail. Certainly recommend it!
