does not indulge in verbose theory and theology

How to Pray, Tapping Into the Power of Divine Communication, Helene Ciaravino, 2001. Square One Publishers, Garden City Park, New York. This Publisher’s Marketing Association award winning book is simply excellent! Ciaravino has given us a true “how to” book. She not only writes about the power of prayer and the why of prayer but has beautifully outlined how Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Buddhists practice a prayerful life. Ciaravino does not indulge in verbose theory and theology but rather connects for us the obvious fact that it does not matter what label we attach to God, it matters only that we talk to God. Ciaravino takes all our objections to why we do not talk to God and offers us a way to gain a new perspective, a new choice, “…once you’ve shown a light on the dark reasons that keep you from praying, and once you’ve implemented some solutions, you wipe away the negativity.” I cannot think of a better way to approach the new year!Read full review...
