Def Leppard is great, this made-for-TV-movie is ok.

If you're a Def Leppard fan you'll enjoy this. If you can get past the poor acting and the jumpy story line. As well as all the cuts and slo-mo effects and such employed during the "concert" scenes.r>
Given all the cheese, I still liked this movie. Def Leppard is awesome and this details some of their beginnings, although, not 100% accurate in details, it's good enough for a TV Movie.Read full review...

what a story,indeed!

if you're a fan of Def Leppard,or any other(mainly 80's)hard rock band, than i'm sure that this movie will be a nice addition to your collection.the actors, the costumes, everything is well placed, and well filmed to make you witness the history of 1 of the biggest bands on the planet, even for a while.although,as the band themselves admit, there are some parts of the history changed,to make it a bit more fit for the drama of the movie.you'll see the ups and downs of rock 'n' roll stardom, and you may realise that sometimes all that it brings with, ain't always nice...the only bad thing i found about the movie,is that it ends before Steve's death.to me that should have been the great finale, with the release of Adrenalize...otherwise,it serves as a little piece of rock history as well.Read full review...

The Def Leppard story (2005, dvd)

I just watched the Def Leppard movie, and found it to be very entertaining. It moved along at a good pace, and really helped give a little insight into what the band went through. I did not think that Joe shouldn't have been made out to be so "bossy" instead of "driven to reach a goal". I also was hoping that they would have shown more of Steve's quirky personality instead of giving you the sence that he was just a miserable person all the time. I was also hoping to see a little type of a memorial service for Steve. Overall, it was a very enjoyable movie(even if you didn't like the band)and I would definitly recommend adding this one to your movie collection!Read full review...

Movie blows

Seemed more like a bunch of sissy’s than rock stars obviously nothing like the real guys and if you’re making a movie on legends you better make it where you get lost in the reality of a true story these guys would be more appropriate playing Donny Osmonds and family’s life storyRead full review...

Wow An honest pictorial of the events surrounding them

I love this biography of Def Leppard because it shows the individual lives of the members before, during and after their success broke through into the USA. You can truly appreciate the struggles they each overcame, as well as the triumphs. The tragedies that have both shadowed and molded these guys' path through their career and their life is truly an inspiration to us all never to give up on your hopes and dreams. I have been a fan for twenty years and I still love their music and go to their concerts when they tour.Read full review...

Rock on

Because it is informative of the band. The actors match up nice to the real band members. Def Leppard has been my favorite since Jr. High School. I love their sound. Rock on!

This a movie, not Real Life Footage (as u may know)

I thought this was music videos / documentary. It is not. It is an older, low budget, short movie depicting a very general history of the band up to just before the Hysteria album. It was kind of interesting though. I learned how hard it must be for bands to be this successful when egos grow so fast. It also basically implies they would have not sounded how good they did if it wasnt for their super talented (and laid back cool) producer. This is the movie (story). I now know that what I wanted was the Hysteria (2002)DVD with Rick Allen. My badRead full review...

The Def Leppard Story DVD

This movie brought back fond memories of my youth when I started to play guitar and be in a Rock Band. I first saw the movie on the VH1 tv network a few years back. It is the story of the band Def Leppard from the start of the band thourgh the various tragedys the band endured of Drummer Rick Allen losing his arm in a car crash to recovereing and learning how to play drums all over again and then to playing with the band again. The band also survived the death of guitarist Steve Clark which died because of Alcohol problems. The movie shows relationship with famed AC/DC and Shania Twain producer Mutt Lange and Def Leppard's Multi-Platinum selling album-CD Pyromania. The DVD movie is done pretty well and fairly accurate. I give this movie abid Thumbs Up to anyone in their 40's who grew up on 1980's Heavy Metal/Power Rock.Read full review...
