Light and versatile albeit with a few minor flaws

1. Lightweight. 6.75 lbs on the web. 6.2 (?) on my scale.
2. Quiet and clear pickups.
3. Good sustain.
4. It's got the pros and cons of double locking, knife-edge tremolo bridge. The good includes relatively stable tuning over time and temp variation. The down side is that pitch bending on one string lowers the pitch of other strings at that time.
5. Use a AA battery in the trem block to tune the guitar initially with the neck locks open. AA battery is the right size to keep the trem even with the body. Lock the neck locks. Remove the AA battery. Adjust the screws in the trem cavity once to get the tuning same as before. At this time, the string tension is equal to the spring tension and keeps the trem even. Use micro-tuners to fine tune.
6. I like the unfinished neck. The radii of both finger board and the back of the neck are larger than Strat's. It will feel thin and flat. It's OK.
7. Low cost. I found that the screw holes for the trem cavity cover bored with too large a drill bit. After the sawdust fell out, the screws free spin. It didn't fall out. The neck pickup is loose. The tone knob was also loose. One of the bridge string locks tends to get loose. Could be my mistake. Other than that, it's solid.
8. Quilted maple top is of low quality. You get what you pay for.
9. 24 frets. I can't tell whether the offset pickup location compared to 22 or lower frets makes any difference in sound. I don't think it does.

Excellent guitar!

I’ve been watching these guitars and read countless reviews. I can say that I don’t regret buying it at all. It came already set up and surprisingly enough, it was basically in tune after a little tweaking and has stayed in tune. I’ve really been putting it through the gambit and I can’t find anything to complain about. It’s well balanced, the neck doesn’t drop to the ground when I’ve got a strap on, and the weight is near to nothing at all in comparison to most guitars. The frets are close enough that it’s comfortable because I have small hands and the use of the Tremolo doesn’t seem to have any effect on the guitar at all. If you’re looking for an excellent guitar that offers you the flexibility to play the blues and then jump into some heavy metal, this is the guitar for you! I would even go as far to say that it feels like an extension of my own.....Awesome guitar and I would put it up against any of the other guitars on the market! Read full review...

Wanted a solid, one piece neck.

The headstock to the Neck was 2 pieces laminated. Wanted a solid, one piece neck.
Would not stay in tune. I loved the weight and the look.

SICK GUITAR

I love Ibanez guitars. Won't play anything else. I love to play rock and metal and this guitar does it all. Very light weigh. Pick ups are clean and beefy sounding for power chords and sounds great when soloing. If you are an beginner, intermediate or advanced player. This is the guitar to get! Keep Rocking!!!Read full review...
