One of my all-time favorite albums

This album is one of those rare ones that I can put in and listen to from beginning to end. They have such a distinct sound, but never do they come across as repetitive. The album begins with two songs, "The Oaf" and "That Song," which provide one of the best one-two punches to any album I've ever heard. It's like a batting order in baseball - you want to have your first couple batters get on base so that the heavy hitters coming up can drive them home. Big Wreck keeps it coming with "Blown Wide Open" and "Under the Lighthouse," two more songs that I just absolutely love. Ian Thornley, the lead singer, often reminds me of Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, particularly in his vocal range. He's able to go up when need be and hit high notes that would make other singers have to use falsetto. Not only does he have extensive range, but he's truly a great singer. This keeps Big Wreck's incredible instrumentals from suffering, as happens sometimes with other rock bands. There aren't really any negative things I have to say about this album. It's solid from start to finish, a great album from an underrated 90s rock group.Read full review...

I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING WHEN THIS CD FIRST CAME OUT , I WISH I HAD BOUGHT IT BACK THEN AND FOLLOWED THERE PROGRESS. Great rock from the '90's

Big Wreck is one of those bands that probably should have gained more fame than they did. "In Loving Memory Of..." is one of those albums you listen to over and over before you put something else in the CD player. Great listening!Read full review...

Love it!

I love, love, love this CD. It is mellow with a hard rock edge. For whatever reason, I liken the singer, Ian Thornley, to Chris Cornell, now of Audioslave. I'd say that if you liked Chris Cornell's solo album, then you'll also love this.Read full review...

Great Album. You buy it, you will be happy....

Great album. If you like Soundgarden or 1990 grunge/metal, this album is for you. Saw these guys open up for Dream Theater in 1997 if that means anything. Great vocals and great guitar.
