In My Country

Not a "feel-good" kinda movie but an extremely important one. How do you rebuild a nation after apartheid, racism, hatred and all the many unspeakable crimes that took place during South Africa's long history? Nelson Mandela's "confess and receive forgiveness" was hard, especially for those who had been wronged yet it was necessary in order heal the nation and move it into the future.
Stellar preformances by Juliet Binoche. She shines as does Samuel L. Jackson.
I don't own a large collection of DVDs, but this is one of the movies that I felt I needed to own because I will return to it many times in the future. The lessons we can learn through it would serve us well if we could just learn them.Read full review...
