classic Foo and then some!

The First cd of this double disc record is every thing you'd expect in a Foo Fighters album. WIth the killer guitar riffs and catchy melodies that one fans over on earlier albums, it doesn't disappoint on this one. Songs like "DOA", "Best of you", "No way back", "Resolve", and more are the classic Foo that we've come to love. But we also see a new side of the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl (lead singer). On the second disc is an all acoustic cd and after a while it grew on me. I'll be honest, I wasn't crazy about it at first, but now I really have come to love it! It's a great change of pace and I really like how the Foo can keep reinventing themselves. Must have for any Foo fan.Read full review...

Foo Fighters - In Your Honor

Great Music. The best things about Foo Fighters: They play with such intense ENERGY - Just listening to their music is energizing. Dave Grohl's voice is without a doubt one of the best in the Alt-Rock-Grunge genre. Their music is original. Face it; in the world of music you can categorize groups as those who copy others and those who are copied. They have developed a sound that has a razor hard edge - yet it has a strong melodic component held together by Dave Grohl's voice. And one last positive about this group's music; they are not afraid to offer real variety, offering great acoustic melodies along with the kick-ass stuff. BEST WORK SINCE THE COLOUR AND THE SHAPE!! EXCELLENT

I purchased this album because I had always liked the Foo Fighters, but had not purchased an album since their There's Nothing Left to Lose CD which was OK, but nothing like The Color and the Shape. I had heard a couple songs off In Your Honor and decided I had to have it. This CD is absolutely amazing. I don't think there is a bad song on either CD. The Acoustic is a little soft, but as far as an acoustic CD goes you can't get any better especially with guest appearances from Norah Jones and John Paul Jones. CD 1 is definately the best album I have heard in a long time. It rocks from start to finish with outstanding guitar, drums, and lyrics. If there is one Foo Fighters album you need to buy it is this one. I bought it in the store for around $17 a year ago. So anything under $12 on ebay is a good deal. No Foo-ey for the Foofighters latest.

I am not one to get thrilled at the new music (anything after the 1980's). However, this one has it all. Great music, wonderful lyrics (even if some are dark), and tremendous variety. This last extends beyond the fact that one disc reflects their usual Tour de Force, the other a more accousticly pleasant experience. The boys even experiment within the broader genres to give us tunes reminiscent of Astrud, Donovan and 60's folk rock. Worth checking out!Read full review...

Footastic!

This is a two cd set, first disc is rockin' and the second is mellow. I was lucky enough to catch them on this tour. After seeing them live I fell in love with this album. My favorite is the opening titled In Your Honor. Dave's voice is so powerful now. I would say Dave Grohl is my generation's Paul McCartney, but better. Glad I got this copy of IN YOUR HONOR

Best thing about it was being able to DOWN LOAD it to iTunes...Own the DUAL DISC version of this album, and that would NOT download...Also, the Dualdisc is a bit of a Collector's Item, and I wanted to PRESERVE IT, since it's still in really good condition. So I'm pretty happy with everything..Think it's a really good album, too...been playing it in my car and at home as often now as I did when I bought it last summer.Read full review...
