Excellent excllent Documentary, Simplifies a complex Ordeal

I never leave reviews but for products this incredible I feel obligated to do my part by spreading the word. Aka, something has to be extremely misrepresented or extremely well done for me to drop my studies to speak about a product.

I have not seen this directors other documentary but this one is so great I will have to watch anything he puts out. Its so well executed. I watch a lot of documentaries, I mean Im at the library every week for like a decade. this is one of the best. THe financial crisis from 2008 is for sure complex. The way this film is written and done, it makes it really easy to understand what went down.

I have never seen so many people lie on camera in my life. The film does a good job at letting these people speak for themselves. Many experts and peripheral people speak, many of them share different views which makes the directors apparent negative outlook on the recession (see the title etc) more balanced. only three times tops do you even hear the directors voice and its mighty entertaining when you see why he chose to speak. matt Damon does the voice over work for the film and truthfully, he is exceptional as usual. You likely won't think of him when watching the film. You will maybe imagine its the directors voice. I did.

The special features are also great. Im big on research and the deleted scenes and directors commentary provide additional answers and explanations. There is a 'making of Inside Job' special feature that will disappoint you a bit if you wanted an all access view of behind the scenes action(Red Dragon dvd etc). However, the 'making of' is yet more pertinent information about the financial crisis. The film makes great use of visuals, mainly graphs to help explain the new "products" created by the financial sector.

I have access to this movie and many, at the library but its so good that I had to buy it to support. I need it on my shelf so people who come over will see it and inquire about it and hopefully borrow it and spread the word. Top notch, you wont regret the viewing or purchase, especially if you care about the well being of your fellow citizens and your own personal education.

The banksters in action ....

A devastating documentary on the financial collapse in 2008 and how it happened. Director C. Ferguson pulls no punches in documenting how all the major investment banks, politicians on both sides of the aisle, ratings agencies, regulators, and economists worked together. He shows how the money generated from selling risky securities to governments and pension funds got recycled back to buy politicians and manage the crisis in a way that made the banks richer and more powerful. Ferguson demonstrates in detail how those greedy banks pulled off one of the greatest crimes in history and instead of locking these people up the government gave them bailouts.
Well-narrated by Matt Damon.
Length 108 minutes.

you will not regret getting this film.

you will not regret getting a copy of this film. some of the highlights to me were the explanation of credit default swaps, how "change we can believe in" was no change at all with geitner, bernanke, etc staying of board--the exact same people. it's fascinating to hear the heads of the rating agencies try to explain why their evaluations were so wrong-- they basically say their report is their freedom of speech and is not intended to predict the suitability of an investment-- keep in mind these are the same people who just downgraded u.s. treasuries with the seeming air of certainty. makes you wonder. "economists" seem to be more like hired writers with no ethics. there is a line in "ma and pa kettle go to town" that seems to apply. pa has won a prize for writing how good a bubble gum is. someone asks him if it is really that good and he says "no it's not, but they didn't offer any prizes for saying that"Read full review...

Educational to the person not in the know.

Wanted to see if the dvd supported what I already figured out through watching different TV programs and reading other materials. It did and went beyond that. The documentary helps one understand what the 2008 financial crisis was about, that it continues to plague us, but more importantly it tells the viewers who wish to care to see that starting with the election of the second rate actor Ronald Reagan as President, the big players in the financial industry have systomatically taken over the Federal government. Our government officials, with a possible few exceptions like Ron Paul have sold their greedy souls to the financial industry and unless someone comes along to set things right, things will only continue to get worst until we become, if we have not already, a nation of the haves and the have nots. It seems to me to be unbias, unlike the documentaries done by Mike Moore who tends to slant his information towards his agenda.Read full review...

BUY THE MOVIE AND PASS IT AROUND!

Watch this documentary INSIDE JOB directed by Charles Ferguson about the GREED OF WALL STREET along with both government and high fallutin' Ivy League college economists who pushed deregulation. Charles Ferguson has put it all out there in orderly fashion about what became a disorderly mess due to that very deregulation! The rich got richer than even they thought they would and the rest of the US of A are losing ground --and jobs and homes and cars etc etc. INSIDE JOB spreads the guilt around to politicians of all stripes and Wall street financial men and some women-not many. Guess the greed is more masculine than I thought or women just don't get the chance to be as greedy as the males in the world of high flying finance. Buy the movie or if you are unemployed or underemployed chip in with others who are in the same boat. You'll find out why you are on food stamps! And the foxes are allowed to guard the hen house--still! The middle class is now just smoke and mirrors folks! Buy the dvd IF you can afford it~Good luck--to us all!Read full review...

Inside American Corruption

Best movie ever, no one will see! I watch movies, go to film festivals, and the local theatre. They engage nearly all of your senses and emotions.
Redefines the "horror" genre in that this is taking place in real time by the most sinister people in modern times.
Great academic study of "sociopaths".

The most powerful and informative documentary of our time!

If you believe that American politics is about Republican vs. Democrat, think again. If you believe it's Liberals/Progressives vs. Conservatives, you're mistaken. If you think you know what's really going on in our economic system, you're wrong!

It is not about the Tea Party vs. Republicans vs. Democrats! It's all about POWER AND CORRUPTION, PERIOD. It is about a government which is bought and paid for. Everything else is a smokescreen, misdirection, and illusion.

This DVD accurately and unbiasedly details how the economic collapse happened. It leaves no question to its accuracy.

The exact timelines, the powerful interviews with those who orchestrated the mess, the detailed explanations as to what happened will open even the most closed minds.

This is the most important documentary of our time, especially come up upon, perhaps, the most important election of our time.

This truly is a must see. Please become informed. Learn how the greatest economic collapse since the great depression was truly and "Inside Job".

Great Documentary, Highly Recommend EVERYONE watch.

There is a War that has been declared. The ones declaring the War know EXACTLY what their goal is. The ones on which the War was declared have no clue (generally speaking).

This is a part of that War. If I steal something from you but do it within the confines of the Law, is that considered Criminal?

The time for the average American to wake up is at hand. We have been mislead, lied to and taken advantage of. Democracy is not something that takes care of itself. IT'S UP TO YOU AND ME. The way to do that is to learn what is happening around us. The Secrets of the Bankers, Financial Conglomerants, Politicians and Governments are comming to LIGHT. WATCH AND BE ANGRY, TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY FROM THESE CRIMINALS.

The ugly truth

A must-see for every American -- the details on how we were scammed by the financial industry -- and still are -- in terms anyone can understand. A compelling documentary -- I have watched it 4 times and shown it to many friends. I can't believe so many people have not seen this film. It was time I owned my own copy.Read full review...
