Wanted to upgrade an old PC. My video card failed so that gave me the reason to do it. Had e6300 so I ordered the Core 2 Extreme QX6700 running at 2.66GHz stock. Since it was a 775 board the replacement was fairly easy(some trouble with Intel board pins). Replaced video card and added AX network card. Wow what a difference.
This old PC is just fine for what I do online now. Shipping was great and chip was fine. Motherboard accepted it from first boot. 4 cores running cool. Good to go now.Read full review...

basic upgread for old PC

It's good for old PC that will maximize its use, by meaning of make most of your old PC.
But personoly this CPU is pretty old and very soon will not handel things good.
It's always good to have better then that for the same price, but if you don't do something massive with the CPU, then that can be great option to go for.Read full review...

Awesome Intel Processor

This is the epitome of what you can place in an older motherboard. I'm running at 3.2Ghz and things just scream! I do a lot of photo work and 3d rendering so this really helps. If you are a casual gamer this might be over kill.Read full review...

running @3.72GHz 1.36V can get hot must have good motherboard and BHF or water cooler to run at this speed.
