If you are on a dual core having a true quad core will be better.

It is what it is. One of the best CPUs you can put in that socket without spending a ton of money. A last ditch effort to upgrade a PC before complete obsolescence.

An "energy-efficient" processor that's beginning to show its age

While an "energy-efficient" quad core for its time, this CPU is definately beginning to show its age. It's probably okay for office productivity and light gaming for older titiles without max settings (and it will need a discrete graphics card for all games but those with the lowest system requirements). Make sure not to run too many tasks on once with it on a Windows 10 computer, and a lightweight antivirus might be helpful so that not too much system resources are being used while working on other things. If you can get it supper cheap and have a socket 1155 motherboard that supports Ivy Bridge and has it's BIOS updated for such, then it might be worth it for one last upgrade on an older computer to make it a little more useful for a little bit longer until you can find or afford something faster and more recent. One nice thing about it is that it only uses 65W instead of 77W or 95W like other Sandy and Ivy Bridge i5 processors, so it's easier to cool, and you might save a little money on your electric bill in comparison.Read full review...

Great CPU

The CPU was easy to install after opening up my iMac and gaining access to the CPU socket. The computer recognized it right away.

The right upgrade for an older LGA 1155 motherboard.

3rd gen processor with 65W TDP will run 24/7 with no heat problems in my application. It's great to reuse old tech. Don't forget to check bois support for the processor.

Best bang for your buck Intel Q77 Express Chipset CPU

I needed the best bang for your buck Intel Q77 Express Chipset CPU to rebuild several Lenovo M92P Tiny bare bone machines. The i5-3470S was a perfect choice. I ran Geekbench 5 and received the following scores: 752 single core and 2512 multi core.

At a street price of ~$20 I highly recommend this CPU for.

Great condition and value

This processor performed better than expected beating out my other 3rd gen i5 3570s in performance while running at half the power. It has no sign of performance degradation or damage. I will strongly consider buying from here againRead full review...

Works fine, but not what i ordered

The CPU worked fine BUT it WAS NOT AN i5 4370s.... It was an i5 3340m, which is not as good as the i5 3470s. It also did not come with a IHS (the metal plate for Heat distrabution, and the CPU details...

Cpu code: SR0XA (i5 3340m)
