A fantastic upgrade

I bought this chip to replace the Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz processor that was currently in my Motherboard. It installed no problem, I did replace the cpu fan and heatsink with a bigger one as this CPU gets a bit hotter than the original one. The performance increase was noticable and I would recommend this for anyone still using a Core2Quad. My motherboard is a Gigabyte EP45. Had to check for compatibility with motherboard, but it works perfectly. One testing motherboard I had to reinstall windows after BIOS reset since CPU was still recognised as previous, but this is known issue with migrating 771 chips to 775 mboards.Read full review...

FAST!!

Fast CPU!!

Faster than the E5450. (the X5450 does support dual cpu, contrary to what some people think. Two X5450 are faster than two E5450)

My system scored a 4900 passmark CPUmark with one CPU.

Bought this for a mod for my 775 socket board. The 775 quads are about two or three times the price of this and after doing the mod and installing this chip I now have a quad core running at 3.0 for less than half the cost of the 775 quad chip.Read full review...
