Definitely the Ultimate Bond Collection (Vol. 2)

If you are a James Bond fan, you can't do much better than these collections. MGM is re-releasing all 20 official James Bond movies (that's not counting Casino Royale) in 4 separate box sets. Each of the volumes contains 5 movies, each digitally remastered with a ton of extras. Now if you only want a certain movie then I suggest you either go to a store, search for that single movie on Ebay or pick out the collection that carries it. Now these collections aren't placing the movies in any particular order. You get a variety of Bonds in almost each collection. You get Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan in all 4 volumes. You get Timothy Dalton in Volumes 1 and 2. George Lazenby arrives in Volume 3. And for all those Daniel Craig fans you're left out in the cold until Casino Royale hits store shelves. Volume 2 contains Thunderball, The Spy Who Loved Me, A View to a Kill, Licence to Kill and Die Another Day. Now I'm not like some 007 fans, I didn't get into the character until Timothy Dalton played the role, and that's because I just knew Pierce Brosnan was going to be the next James Bond back in 1987. (What can I say, I was in the 7th grade and I was a big Remington Steele fan.) So this was a great way for me to see how the character had developed over the years. I had seen Licence to Kill and Die Another Day prior to getting this volume. The other 3 movies I vaguely remember watching. I don't like watching movies on broadcast television because so many things are cut out due to broadcast standards. I really enjoyed Die Another Day especially because of all the homages to previous Bond movies. Once you get these collections you appreciate those "easter eggs" even more. The theme song from Thunderball, I found myself singing it a couple of times after watching the movie. Unfortunately my least favorite Bond movie is also contained in this volume, A View to a Kill. I watched it because it was in the box, but that's probably the only time I'll watch it. Thanks to that movie, if The Spy Who Loved Me wasn't in this set, a person might think Roger Moore was the worse Bond ever. And to me that wasn't the case. I enjoyed all the other 007 movies in this volume. If you're a fan of 007 or just want to get an idea of what's behind this love of James Bond, then this is a perfect starting point. Even if, to you, Sean Connery is the first and only Bond or you think that Timothy Dalton should have had a chance to further his take on 007, you'll find something to like in this set. You'll be hard pressed to find a more complete collection of James Bond adventures.Read full review...

James Bond Vol #2

This set contains Die another day, License to Kill, The Spy who Loved me, Thunderball and a View to a Kill.
As I have mentioned in my past review of the Bond series, I wish they would not have taken the movies out of sequence. It is because of this reason that I did not give it an excellent rating, but it is the only reason.
This set gives you the best Bonds for your buck. You get Connery, Brosnan, Dalton and Moore. It also gives you one of my favorite Bond movies - Thunderball.
The DVD's are crisp & clean. No drop outs, pixel squaring or skipping. You also get additional DVDs with the main movie. These extra DVD's have a lot of bonus features on them that are not contained with just the standard movies.
If you are a Bond fan you will be extremely happy with this set.

James Bond 007! Ulitmate Edition Vol 2. That alone tells a good story. A nice mixture of old and new. From ThunderBall with Sean Connery (1965) to Die Another Day with Pierce Bronsnan (2002). I am a Bond fan & these are some of my favorites. Each sleave has 2 discs & a small booklet on each film is included. Very nice set not much if anything to dislike. Solid construction all the way through.Everything about this set feels and looks like a premium set and nothing is an afterthought. Very Nice. A definate BEST BUY in my book.Read full review...

James Bond Ultimate Collection - Vol. 2

My husband is a major James Bond fan and he loves this set. He already has most of the movies on VHS and on DVD, but he really likes the box sets with all their extra stuff. The picture and sound quality are great! Especially in the older movies. I'm working on getting him vol. 1, 3, & 4 right now!Read full review...
