John Ransom's Andersonville Diary/Life Inside the Ci...
My son is an avid reader of Civil War books. I have read some of his books, including books on Andersonville. We have been to Andersonville. This book is so interesting I couldn't put it down when I started reading it. After seeing Andersonville, it is hard to imagine the amount of men that were kept there. It's not that big of a place. The diary John Ransom wrote while in prison there, is so descriptive of the hard times the prisoners faced, starvation, beatings, things stolen, and whatever else went on, it really makes you appreciate not having to go through anything like those prisoners of war had to suffer. None of us know what we will have to suffer yet in this life.Read full review...
Book in great shape
This diary of Andersonville is one of the best I've read. Ransom details so much, including other Southern prisons and how he escapes. A very enjoyable read.
