Classic art form.

Justice League: The New Frontier is unique. I really like it for it has a classic look to it. The classic look is a 1940s to 1960s art form to it. I loved it when Martian Manhunter transformed into the classic and famous cartoon character named: Bugs Bunny. I love Bugs Bunny it brought back childhood memories seeing Bugs Bunny drinking soda. Justice League: The New Frontier has action, the guest appearance of Aquaman, Supergirl and others. My boy Superman was not there for the main action but Superman is there and I Love Superman. The Centre is the enemy as a resolute it is worth seeing.Read full review...

Justice League;The New Frontier

Having never read the graphic novel, I had no idea what to expect when I watched this movie and was very happy with the story, animation and the bonus feature on the history of the Justice League as well.
I have to say though, I was a bit taken aback by the violent scene near the beginning when Hal Jordan finds himself in a kill-or-be-killed situation when he is grappling with a North Korean soldier. A bit much for young children, I think (and by YOUNG I mean 8 years old or younger).
Cold War overtones, Mccarthyesque paranoia and the difference between the American dream and the American reality are the underlying tones in this film and i think the writers did a wonderful job. While i can't make a direct comparison to the comic itself, the movie certainly makes me want to read The New Frontier. But most of all, the film pushes me further into the world of DC comics as I continue what seems to be (and only time will tell) my shift from a steadfast Marvelite to DC enthusiast.
I grew up on Marvel for the most part..but as I approach my forties i find myself increasingly drawn towards the DC Universe and it is nice because there are so many new discoveries out there for me. Its like being a kid all over again.
Well, almost..

most faithful comic book movie adaptation

Justice League: New Frontier is the single most faithful comic book movie adaptation (right up there next to Watchmen).

The story is the origin of the DC Silver Age; how the heroes met and why, with Hal Jordan's journey to become Green Lantern front and center.

A true masterpiece as the years the heroes debut in the story coincide with the years the characters were released in print (in the Silver Age).

Batman is shown in a more bare bones, even more real world view, Wonder Woman is shown as a brutal and dominating warrior, and Supes is not the big hero that saves the day! GL and Flash shine, alongside Martian Manhunter, in this animated gem, that is must viewing for any superhero junkie.

Justice League: The New Frontier (2008)- Well Done!

This follows the stories of individual superheroes, that tie together with a common goal. It involves a couple origin stories, and carries on with some other characters. It ends up being the begining of the Justice League.
The plot is interesting (based on the graphic novel). The dialogue is well written. The action is packed. The voice acting is well done. The art is unique when compared to most comic book shows out there.
WELL DONE!

Good animated DC Universe comic book movie. Worth every cent!

I bought this movie at one point for my little cousin who is 8. He's such a huge fan of DC Comics and Marvel Comics and such, and he was blown away when he saw it. I have to admit, it truly is such a good animated movie adaption to the DC comics as well. My little cousin and I would recommend a DC Comics animated movie such as this for little children his age.Read full review...
