The End of the Monkees, and Dolenz Finest Hour

Everyone that bothers to read this will have their own opinion of this band, and this record isn't going to change it. It's a Monkees album, and as it turns out the final entry in the catalog. Although Mickey Dolenz credits Mike Nesmith with much of the energy that made the album possible, it is Dolenz who emerges as MVP, delivering mature songs coming from the bitterness and anger stemming from a divorce. These are songs the young Dolenz could not have done, and the pain and fury act as a balance for the sweetness of the (late and missed) David Jones. What does the man who sang "I'm a Believer" sound like when his belief collapses? The answers are on Justus. As an epitaph for a great band goes, it more than suffices. Repeated listening will make you bitterly lament the fact that this wasn't successful enough to make them stick together a few years longer.Read full review...

HeyHeyWe'reTheMonkees

Item was well packed and received on time. The CD was in excellent condition and it was great to catch up with the Monkees after all these years, now sadly there are only two of the guys left. So glad I purchased this CD, just brilliant.Read full review...

To the point as it was just them performing on the cd

All songs are oriiginal from the group. The sound quality great, and it was the last album that all original members played on.

hey,hey we're the Monkees

I have just bought this Cd and listened to a couple of songs. It sounds awesome so far.I am glad to have it,since it is actually a reunion album.I'll just have to listen to it enough to learn the songs. So as for now,all I can say is,it's the Monkees,it's all four original members, all of them are playing all instruments and singing.I am a big Monkee fan, always have been and always will be.I grew up watching them on tv and had most of their albums, and they just had what I liked back then as a kid,and even still today as an adult.Read full review...

Awesome CD

I purchased the JustUs CD because I am a HUGE Monkees fan and I am trying to get ALL their CD's, Videos, DVD's, and cassettes. I had the cd a few years ago and I loved it then. It was really great to hear the guys recording music again after 30 years. I am hoping to get the JustUs video to see the guys in concert and recording together again. Let's hope the guys get together again to make more music together.Read full review...

Hey Hey they're the Monkees

A good last album from all four guys. I think it has more of a Mike attitude. Overall I believe they reunited for the right reasons.

The Monkees cd to complete my collection

I'm glad i've found this cd on ebay, not easily available in the area where i live! I my opinion, it's not the best album made by the Monkees but it's not bad and more important for me, that was the only missing piece for me to have all Monkees records! As a serious 60's rock music collector, i needed that to be happy! The cd arrived here in perfect shape so i got exactly what i paid for and i'm happy with this purchase.Read full review...

Nostalgia

Being an original Monkees fan from way back, I was surprised to learn that the guys had made a more "recent" album that I hadn't heard. And I guess I was expecting them to sound like the good old days. Not quite. It was good, don't get me wrong, and I like that it was all done by them, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. By the way, Micky still rocks.Read full review...
