What you see is NOT always what you get!

The features on this camera are impressive for it's size and price, however, a lot of the features don't live up to the description. Such as, all of the low-light modes result in grainy shots and the sunset mode paints a yellow band above the horizon regardless of what color is actually there. As is true with just about every Kodak point-and-shoot, the best photos are those taken in bright sunlight with the sun at your back. This camera doesn't handle glare. Even in auto mode, some photos are washed out, some have a purple hue, and others are perfect. Some photos are "soft focused" (even when using a tripod so I know it's not ME that messed it up) and others are perfectly focused. And, what you see on the viewscreen after you take a photo is NOT necessarily what is on your memory card. I tried taking lighthouse photos at dusk, in a light fog, and the viewscreen showed beautiful results. When I loaded the photos onto my computer...they were black with just the lantern room of the lighthouse illuminated and none of the lightrays from the lighthouse were visible at all even though they were showing clearing in the viewscreen as having been captured. Also, my camera is refurbished so I don't know if the new ones do it but sometimes when I'm trying to select a scene and scroll through them, all of a sudden the highlight just starts going crazy and stops when it feels like it, not on a scene that I wanted. This has happened a few times now and the camera is less than 2 weeks in my possession.Read full review...

It's OK, but I think I paid too much for a camera with this problem.

While this is a great picture-taking camera, with great resolution, it has a major problem: the lens cover does not always close fully, and opens by itself. The cover slides back easily when the camera is off, exposing the lens to scratches. I had to return one camera that had deep scratches that ruined the photos, and while my current camera also has scratches on the lens, they do not affect the picture quality as yet. A quick check of the Easyshare cameras offered on eBay shows that many of them suffer from this same simple problem, some not closing at all, which could be why Kodak stopped making cameras.Read full review...

Easyshare M580

I'm not really impressed with this camera over the cheaper models by Kodak.I bought this camera for its high megs. I thought this camera had crop option which it doesn't unless you go through the computer. Even the cheaper models let you crop a picture after you have taken it. Also the camera has no lens stabilization. So you really have to be still or use a tri-pod to have clarity in your pictures. If you zoom in on a picture you can really tell the difference if you have moved. This is my opinion you can try on out at Wal-mart on the display and see for yourself. RasRead full review...

The very best pocket camera available and it is priced way below true value

This is the second M580 I own and I am about to buy a third to use 2 of them for 3D photo and video. This is a beautiful little compact camera with 8X optical zoom, which is hard to find in a small camera. The optics are excellent, and the resolution in wide screen and HD video is very good. The only drawback is the zoom in video mode is very quick, but this has not been a serious problem in the DVD videos I make. The display is bright, even in sunlight, the setup is easy to manage and the menus are logical. Changing modes is relatively quick. I prefer this camera over my HDD video cam for ease of operation and convenience, and the quality of picture and sound are just as good.Read full review...

Reliable and well designed.

Nice reliable camera that I use in my business on a daily basis. Not a camera pro but take pics of inventory and documents and it does fine. In fact, I have two of these. Highly recommend.

Awesome Digital Camera!

If you're looking for a name brand high resolution digital camera without having to pay an arm and a leg for one, this is an ideal investment!

This camera is very user friendly and fun to use. Within only a few minutes I already felt familiar with its functions and I am ever impressed by the quality of the pictures this great camera takes! I wish I would have known about this particular camera earlier, I would have bought it then. I can see this camera lasting many years, even as technology advances.Read full review...

camera works great, big screen, easy to use, clear pics

camera is small, easy to use, and takes greast pics. I like the availability to see the pics on my hi def tv using a HDMI cable. The big screen is also a nice feature. This is my third Kodak camera and I have't been disappointed yet. I will keep buying these cameras.Read full review...

Kodak EASYSHARE M580 14.0 Megapixel

I loved the size of the camera and the zoom. The price seemed very reasonable for a 14.0 megapixal camera. I was very disappointed when I actually used it though. When I would use the zoom lens feature, the picture was out of focus and blurry, repeatedly. It was also out of hue. All of the pictures taken, in different settings, came out with a yellow tint. So disappointed.Read full review...
