An easy to use camera with manual-like control.

I was looking for a camera to introduce my daughter to photography without the "excessive controls" available on other cameras so i decided to go for Kodak.

My first digital was a Kodak also and i liked the experience, now i found this all-in-one camera with full auto control, image stabilization and 14MP images... wow! learn about composition and light, then slowly move into manual options available with easy to use menus... f-stops, shutter speed, iso levels, even focus can be set manually, it only misses the RAW format since all pics are jpeg compressed, that leads you to a +900 full quality pictures on a 4GB SD Card, perfect for plenty of picture-taking fun. Not to mention the 720p quality HD Video this camera also records.

She loves to take pictures and with that wrapped for the past christmas i guess she´s on its way to the photography world... then, if she really likes that world like i do, probably will move to something more complex and customizable by it´s own.

Great little Camera

This camera is very compact. I bought the camera because my old one was getting a little fuzzy on one side and the Megapixels weren't that great anymore. I bought this camera for a couple reasons. Number one was price. It wasn't very expensive at all. I loved the fact that it was a 14 MP. That is double my old one. I wasn't sure about the camera, because I really wanted a more professional camera with the different lenses and all. After looking it over, it's perfect for what I want to do with it. I also noted that it uses the same batteries as my old camera, and I have three rechargeable batteries! Bonus! But the camera has several settings I can't wait to use. It has a feature for stages, sunsets, and panoramic stitching. I have use for all three of these settings. It's so small and compact that I can carry it in my pocket. My old camera wasn't large, but I did have to carry it in my camera bag, which isn't always handy. I love the camera and can't wait to use it in different settings.Read full review...

Great Camera

I've had this camera before except there are no cases available that fit it well so my last one ended up cracking. Since there is no viewfinder, a cracked screen was detrimental to the life of the camera. I bought this one because it was about the same price as my last one, but with a camera bag, screen cleaner products and a memory card. I thought that the battery might be rechargeable, but I was wrong. Even though I was wary about buying a camera on eBay, my only complaint so far is that the camera's speed seems to be much slower on this one than my last one. I can only take about 5 pictures in a row before it simply freezes. When you are flying by beautiful scenery, it's quite frustrating, but during regular events, it is no problem.Read full review...

Still not totally convinced.

I have an easyshare 10MP camera, and I take pictures like crazy and develop them. If I like a specific shot, I enlarge the shot and put it in a frame.
I bought this one because it was a 14MP & for some reason assumed it would give me better quality shots. Well so far, judging from the enlarged pictures coming from both cameras, my 10MP seems to give me better shots. Also, the response time to perform a desired action...not impressive.
I will give it a couple more shots and if it doesn't wow me, I will pass it on to my younger sis.
So to recap: There is nothing wrong with the camera, it just hasn't risen to my expectations. My 10MP seems to be better in every way.

Kodak review

There are many features of this camera that appeal to me. The auto focus as well as the auto adjustments made make taking pictures simple. Fir those who have a limited knowledge of photograhy this is a must buy. Even experienced photographers will enjoy the customizable settings found in features of this camera. Another great feature is the ease at which pictures can be moved from the camera to a computer. It is as easy as 1,2,3. Anyone interested in taking food pictures should incest in this camera.Read full review...

Easyshare Z1485

The Kodak easyshare z1485 is a simple yet reliable camera. One of the simpler cameras to use. The optical 5x zoom was great, but when using the additional digital zoom I noticed a big drop in picture quality about half way through the enhancement. The camera is great for close up pictures, but if you are looking for something with a little more clarity at long distances I would suggest a camera with more optical zoom.Read full review...

Kodak EASYSHARE Z1485 IS 14.0 Megapixel

My intention was to buy a camera, not very expensive but with up to date analysis.
It is 14Megapixel.
I was surprised positive when I saw a plethora of menus in it.
I think that it is best buy considering its price and the alternatives it gives.
The only thing that makes me skeptical is the fact that seems consuming a lot of electricity. I consumed 2.5 pairs of batteries for approx. 150 photos.
I m wondering if something goes wrong with this model in general or has to do only with my camera
My rating if I had the option would be between very good and excellent.

Great Camera

I bought the blue camera of this exact model, unfortanetly I cracked the screen when I had it in my pocket and ran into a table, So I have replaced it with the black one and at same time purchased the pink one for my wife. I absolutely love this camera it takes incredible pics and video, yes the batteries dont last all that long but you can buy the rechargeables on ebay and they come with a charger, I would also advise anyone buying this camera to purchase the docking station that will hook up to your HD television so that u can enjoy the pics at their best. you will NOT find a better camera for the price. set your camera on the smart setting and start snapping. another really cool feature about this phone is the fact that u can shoot a video and actually make still pics from any of the video ... Needless to say we made some really awesome pics of my daughters soccer season this year just by taking video and then making pics from it ... we Love this cameraRead full review...

Easy camera to use and takes sharp pics

I originally had the 12 meg Kodak Easyshare with a 3 X zoom and really liked it but found the Kodak Z1485 that has 14 meg with a 5 X zoom and was able to buy it for the same price so I returned the 12 meg camera. For a reasonably priced camera the Kodak Z1485 Easyshare is a great camera. It is very user friendly and takes great pictures. The only thing I was alittle surprised about was the 12 meg Kodak Easyshare (sorry I do not have the model #) had a 3 inch viewfinder. The Kodak Z1485 has a 2.5 inch viewfinder. I did not think this would be a big deal but surprisingly it makes quite a difference when trying to take pictures. The viewfinder, although only 1/2 inch smaller, is OK but the 3 inch viewfinder was a lot better. Other than that I am very happy with it. My thinking was that for the price of under $100 I could use this for a couple of years and if I found a newer version or one I liked better sometime down the road then I could buy it and not be out of much money. Cameras seem to be improving monthly and like computers, in a couple of years yours is out of date. At this price buying a new better model does not cost you much. I would highly recommend this camera for the price.Read full review...

kodak z1485

I was looking for a new digital camera at a decent price. Originally, I was going to buy it from Kodak.com, but I decided to look at Ebay where I found it at a huge discount. The one that I bought is a factory refurb sealed in box. It has a 1 year warranty as well. This camera takes excellent pictures. It does well in low light and in motion (i.e. out the car window). This camera has a lot of nice features. It has a manual setting so if you want to adjust your aperture and shutter, you can. It also has a histogram setting that shows you the optimal exposure for manual settings. The HD video even comes out really nice, although I haven't played it on the tv yet. I have had very few blurred pictures. The flash fills in areas flawlessly. It also has face recognition, which brings out faces and objects for a better exposure. It takes up to a 32gb sd card. You can add tags and sounds to your pictures in-camera and upload your pictures directly to Facebook or Twitter. I love everything about it. I would highly recommend it to anyone and at 14 megapixels it is definitely worth the price.Read full review...
