Great little point-and-shoot cameras!

These are great little "point and shoot" cameras. The Schneider-Kreutznach lens is top-notch, as anyone who is familiar with large-format (4X5, 5X7, 8X10 etc.) cameras knows. They've been producing lenses since 1913! Kodak (r.i.p.) was smart to get them on-board to supply the optics. The eye-level finder is essential, IMO, especially in bright light (I use it in all conditions and wouldn't consider a camera with only a screen. Yes, it's low-res...but at least you can see what you're pointin' at!) The 10 to 1 zoom, while not the longest (38-380equiv.) is crystal-clear throughout its range. I can no longer "hold" 380+ w/o support anyhow, so this is "plenty" of range for my use, although at times I wish it would go "wider" (say to 28mm equiv.)
Also, don't let the 7.1 mp definition "scare" you (unless you're shooting billboards...in which case you need large-format film anyway...) It's plenty for most of what this camera will be used for. Others have written about camera's slow start-up and time-between-shots, and this is true to some extent. Stick a 10X S.D. card and fresh Li-on batts in 'er an' she'll perk up quite a bit!
I paid (over) 10 times as much for one of these (new, W/M) a dozen years ago..missed its handiness and found a bargain on the Bay. Thanks to the both prev. owner and ebay.

Great Camera for the price! Love it!

I'm not the most experienced with cameras, so this is a great camera for me to start with. I can tell that if I really picked up the hobby of photography, I would outgrow this one. However, for I'm need it for, it is perfect. I have a horse training and selling business, and this camera takes great sale photos. I can zoom in quite closely to get a good shot.

The package came witha case, a cleaning kit, batteries, and tripod. The batteries didn't last too long, and the camera did not come with a DC adaptor.. THat would have been nice.. Its okay though. Its just nice to have a quality camera that isn't too bulky and is easy to use!

Kodak EASYSHARE ZD710 7.1 Megapixel

I am a single mother of 3 very active children with family spread all over the state. I wanted a camera that would take clear still shots and catch all of the action on the field, the court, the mat or the swingset. I recently decided to try my hand at other types of photograpy and this camera was a good fit for my interests and my budget. The pictures are great and I can blow them up without to much distortion, print them on a printer dock and/or email them with ease. My only issue so far is the clarity of the picture on the view finder. I am not sure if it is the camera or because it was refurbished but it seems very blurry and it is hard to see if I am hold the camera steady enough. I also love the size of the camera it is big enough to be sturdy for younger hands but still small enough to put in my purse for a daytrip. The camera was fairly easy to use straight out of the box and I am enjoying all the choices in settings. I like my camera and I am very glad I bought it. There were others with more bells and whistles but this one is great for the mom who doesn't want to miss the memory.Read full review...

Kodak Easyshare zd710

Really good picture quality BUT very slow between pictures. It has to process the photo you just took for 5-8 full seconds before moving on. I would not suggest this for folks who want to take lots of pictures in succession (babies, sports etc.) It's more for formal portraiture due to the slow speed. I bought it for this purpose and I am very happy with the large number of features it offers. A slew of settings and the ability to manually set the f stop and shutter speeds. Lenses are limited but you can buy an adapter ring for this camera and have a much larger selection of lenses to choose from.

I did buy a second digital camera for action shots and I suggest that if you buy this camera you are not expecting it to function for action shots in succession it's just too slow. This means not for my child's birthday parties, or anytime when I want to quickly catch the changes of expression and those great family moments. But this is a great high quality image camera.

Good upgrade, but couple of issues

I bought this camera as my son had one when we went to Alaska - pictures were great - loved the 10x zoom and panoramic features. I had an Olympus Stylus which I like (much more compact to fit in my pocket for everyday use), but wanted one with more features. Just used it for the first time couple of weeks ago for his wedding on the beach. Pictures and zoom feature turned out quite well for an amateur - especially liked the ease of uploading the pictures and using the Kodak Easyshare program. Still experimenting with it and so far OK. Don't like the time delay from turning the camera on and waiting for it to be ready to take photo. One possible issue is battery life - used Kodak rechargeable batteries (fully charged) and had to replace after about 45 pictures in the middle of the wedding. Appears to be good camera for an "old guy" technologically challenged.Read full review...

ZD710 Kodak Digital Camera

I bought this ZD710 Kodak Camera because of what I read about its features. I chose to buy it on E-Bay because auctions are a fun way of buying.
The 7.1 megapixels give a nice crisp picture. I found the 10X optical zoom to be easy to use.
It is small enough to carry and still offer great features. I haven't found anything that I don't like about the camera.
If you like good results from a camera with little fuss, you should try this camera.

Kodak EASYSHARE ZD710 7.1 Megapixel

Nice camera and it takes good pictures. I love the zoom and the flash system. I love the price that I got it for and it is well worth the money I paid.

On the dark side of this review, the viewer is very grainy and unclear. It seems difficult to learn the aspects which an amateur can produce complimentary photos, but this camera has the ability and with some practice maybe I'll learn.

When shopping for a camera I found a 12 megapixel Kodak that was in the same price range, so, I went down to my local department store and compared the two and with the features of each the ZD710 was the better buy. Overall, I love this camera and am trying to find things to photograph since getting it.

Great Camera for the price

This camera is a very easy camera to use and takes nice pictures. The functions are simple to set. It is light weight. I bought this camera to use at my son's sporting and music events. I've been wanting a nice camera to get distance photos and with the 10X optical zoom I will be able to get close to the action on the field. I would recommend this camera to anyone, in fact I am getting one for a neice for her graduation.Read full review...

Nice Brand iffy camera at times

Overall, I have liked Kodak cameras and have owned three so far. My first one was 10x zoom 5mp. I then got this camera and noticed it seems to be a UK model. It at times will not recgnize the USB cable even though inserted and plugged properly. It takes a long time to process a picture once taken that the next time to take another pictures is delayed. I like this brand but would probably like a camera that works faster and more efficient. Sometimes the screen blinks on and off. Maybe I just got a lemon. I really like the different settings to choose from and the size of clear pictures you can take.Read full review...
