Worthy replacement for my previous Maxxum 7D

I bought this one to replace my old one which quit working. It works fine. The lenses cover a range of focal lengths and functionality. Three of the five are ones I didn't have before. The extra batteries, the high-capacity CompactFlash card, and the remote shutter trigger are great.

The camera bag it came in is also quite good. It won't replace my existing bag, but it holds lenses well and seems well made.

Best A mt for the money

Using some incredible sharp & eBay Cheap lenses made for Minolta A mt. film days and Konica Minolta DT lenses; up scales the performance of this digital camera to CULT status! Sony didn't buy Konica Minolta because they were dumb! Having the first anti shake in a digital APS-C chip sized body system and with knob and switch controls, leaves photog's with BIG smiles on there faces. If you don't buy this camera, you don't understand digital Pixel sizes and Meg file ratings. This camera has pixel sizes 4x wider than cell phones and 2x wide as the latest digital wiz bang on the 2016 marketplace. Bigger the pixel size, ie. 7.5um , the better the dynamic range! Six mega is big enough with this pixel size. The camera 7D has a huge following world -wide for lots of great reasons, and its dirt cheap!Read full review...

Superb picture quality

I used the legendary Minolta 7D from 2006 all the way to 2018 till it died due to the infamous shutter design flaw. It produced thousands of beautiful and memorable pictures for my family. Every time I viewed the pictures I could not stop appreciating the color fidelity and life-like picture quality this camera was capable of. I consider accurate color reproduction and sensor dynamic range the most important attribute of a camera. In this regard, its much better than its successor the A700, and still miles ahead of the modern 24mp CMOS camera I bought as the replacement. Not to say the convenient dials and knobs. Wish SONY can bring out an upgraded 7D then I will be all over it. Read full review...

great features

it is after all only a six meg camera, but it does take good pictures. I have
already blown them up to 13 x 19. if you need them any larger then this is
not the camera for you. build quality is great and i like that it has buttons and wheels for about everything so that you don't have to keep running back and forth to the menu. very good older camera. i got it somewhat as an heirloom.Read full review...

The icon Konica Minolta Alpha 7D

Konica Minolta Alpha 7 Dynax Maxxum α-7, aka 7D, is an excellent camera, way ahead of it's time. Just to put in perspective, just had something equivalent years later with the Sony alpha-700 (the last Sony with Minolta DNA). I just love this camera! Check out flickr about the results. It's fantastic! Spotlight on colors capability. Thanks! Read full review...

Affordable quality for a serious photographer.

The 7D was the height of Minolta serious intent in the digital field before it folded. Although limited in some respects, it is a workhorse perfectly suited to a beginning, serious photographer.
