The King of Retro Fantasy Films! A Must-See!

In my opinion, this was the best Fantasy thriller before Lord of the Rings came out!

Planet “Krull“, with 2 suns, is inhabited by a human-like race in the middle-ages. All seems normal from an outer-space view, but then an Alien Race known as “The Slayers“, aboard their main Battle station, "The Black Fortress", invades the planet and nearly succeeds in wiping out everyone and everything! To make matters really bad, the Slayers break up the royal wedding of Prince Colwyn, kidnap the beautiful Princess Lyssa and manage to kill Colwyn’s father, the king, during the castle invasion.

Colwyn must raise a new army, consisting mainly of criminal rangers & desperadoes in order to rescue his Princess bride from The Slayers’ leader, The “Beast”. Colwyn’s plan of “Rescue the Princess & Destroy the Fortress” seems simple from a tactical point of view, except The Beast’s seemingly endless armies possess weapons, which normal armies don’t stand a chance against. Colwyn needs to find a whole new way to Rescue the Princess before he can launch an all-out assault on the Black Fortress

Colwyn’s new army of “medieval desperados” are more brutal and highly skilled than his previous army, but the Slayers’ ambushes just keep on coming, further reducing Colwyn’s army down to mere squads which don’t stand a chance against the Slayers’ Mighty Legions. In a nick of time, Colwyn manages to find an ultimate weapon, The Glaive, which proves much more effective than the Slayers' firepower.

With the Glaive, Colwyn manages to find a way to sneak around the back of the Black Fortress and he now has the firepower needed to rescue the Princess and kill The Beast, thus ending the Slayers’ reign of Terror once and for all.Read full review...

Krull midevil fantasy

Krull is a movie that is entertainment for the whole family. It has all the elements of an epic adventure. The movie has all of a classic adventure/drama, duty, honor, courage, love, monsters, creatures, good and evil. The movie starts out where a prince is about to wed a princess and join their two kingdoms together, but an evil presence enters their world and steals away the princess. The prince then embarks on a quest to rescue his princess.
The movie is fairly faced paced with very little non-action time. The down time during the movie is there to introduce you to the characters. There are no big name actors, but they all do an excellent job playing their parts.
The script was well thought out. There are some nice twists, turns and surprises during the adventure. The characters do not flip flop during the movie and stay true to their characters particular traits.
If you like Action/Adventure/Fantasy with a hint of love story thrown in you will not be disappointed with Krull.Read full review...
