Kyocera DuraForce

I have only just received this phone about 3 weeks ago. I am liking it very much so far. I particularly like the large screen which is easier to see. So far I have found operating this phone very simple. I had been previously using a Blackberry Bold 9900 which was pocket dialing on me and I simply could not clearly see the little miniature keyboard symbols or use them properly. In some reviews I read on the internet the Blackberry Bold's keyboard was praised as being so Great, but for me it was one of the worst features because of it's size. Everybody I have shown this Kyocera DuraForce to has really liked it. I am hoping the battery will hold up for many years and that I will be able to keep and use this phone for a LONG TIME.Read full review...

Not quite enough internal memory.

It's a very decent phone for the price point, very durable. If it had 64gb ROM, would have been a great phone for me.

Perfect phone for me, thank you.

I actually bought this one because it said it was rugged, good for job sites with loud machinery because it had a loud ringer. That's no lie either! I drive a wrecker truck & with all the noise that it makes going down the road along with all the other noises from the city, I can't hear my phone ring at all. And my phone is what keeps me busy working. Without the phone I wouldn't have any customers and if I can't hear them when they call, I lose business. I just wish the battery lasted longer than it does.Read full review...

Solid

The form factor: size and grip-ability are a plus for us clumsy types and the durability saves it from most drops so far. Haven't submerged in water yet but it looks as though the grommets covering the open ports will suffice. The grommet tethers are a bit suspect but hopefully with a bit of care will survive the entire life of the phone. The volume from the external speakers is far superior to any I have heard from a cell or smart phone. I can stream music and comfortably hear it while the phone is in my back pocket! Real tactile buttons are appreciated. If you need a rugged phone that has outstanding features this beats most by a mile. Apparently there will be a new version released by Kyocera soon and will be available from T-Mobile at least. Price wise this is a very good value in my opinion. I would highly recommend and would replace it if I lost it.Read full review...

Decent for newbies to smart phones.

This phone is good as a starter phone. It's not too big and very durable for the construction trade. Takes some time to learn the features and to customize the phone for what is needed.
Has a decent battery life, only con is the battery is not replaceable. The phone is great for loud
ringer and speaker, which is helpful in noisy conditions. Only other dislike are some of the installed apps that come on the phone, which cannot be uninstalled or turned off, and use battery sources trying to update often. Over all we are satisfied with this phone.

Great product just outdated

The phone came in perfect condition.
It has an 8mp camera for those like myself who couldn't find that information in the listing.
A 128gb Micro SD card will work.
Some of my apps that I use are not compatible with the outdated version of Android that comes on this phone which is why I knocked a star off.
This phone is huge and heavy, it feels like it can take some abuse but it's not exactly pocket friendly.

Overall it's a great work phone especially since I work in a water park.

Phone review

Really cannot give any comments on the phone as of yet! Seems like it is a good value. I gave it to my partner for Christmas. He is learning how to use it. I am pleased it is a heavy duty phone. I
am purchasing a screen cover to protect the surface. I do not know how it is for battery life yet. It is the right size for him.Read full review...

Durable phone with good battery life. Conductive sound is awesome.

Great phone after rooting and debloating, Which was a pita but completely necessary.
Solid batttery, locks GPS quickly. Impressive sound quality even in noisy areas.

Works great with VOIP. I've had issue with echo on more expensive phones.

What can I say? Not a fragile powerhouse but a solid phone good at doing phone stuff.

Good, rugged, basic smart phone

The Kyocera Duraforce is the first smart phone I have ever had. I got it because I need a rugged phone with larger print than my previous rugged phone, which was a Sonim. The Duraforce has a relatively long battery life and all the basic features I need and it can be operated in all conditions including in rain and while the owner is wearing gloves. I have only had it for a couple of weeks but thus far, I am satisfied, especially with the price of $67 for a new unit.Read full review...

Durable and dependable!

As a contractor I seem to be dropping my phone more often than I care to admit. I also get it dirty and wet as the environment in which I conduct business seems to have an abundance of unfriendly elements which have killed previous devices. I like the size of this phone as it slips easily into my pocket and does not seem phased by me sitting on it when I get in and out of my truck. I think the screen is big enough even for my older eyes and I really enjoy the beefed up volume output. Though there are better cameras out there, I am perfectly fine with the image quality as it is used for site specific photos which do not require the crispness of an art exhibition piece of art. This is my second Duraforce as the I crack the glass when I stepped on it and there was a chunk of gravel dead center of the screen. It cracked but is still fully functional. I was not able to find anyone to replace the screen so I opted to get a replacement instead. I'll just remember to not step on it next time! If you want an honest and tough little device, this phone is a winner!Read full review...
