Two versions, this is the good one.
There are two versions of this screen. The original and better one does not have square holes on the top edge of the screen frame (the side you pull the screen out with). The newer and much more common one with the holes gets many complaints about a lack of longevity. Don't know why. The old one has indentations instead of actual holes. Also, there are two screws at the bottom of the screen holder in the washer that tend to mess up the felt gasket dead center at the bottom. if you are handy, remove the assembly and add washers under the head of the screws, thereby reducing how much they stick into the path of the screen. The dryer itself has a very poor lint system. The filter does little to trap most of the lint and the rest get sucked into the venting. Frequent cleaning is necessary to prevent excessive lint buildup.
If I had known of the problem in advance I would have never purchased this dryer. It works no better than other manufacturer's dryers, but the constant maintenance is too time consuming to justify.
Also, LG did not stand behind their product nor the defective design that was changed in the next model. Very disappointed since no new lint filter is ever going to correct the problem and LG obviously could care less. This is the last LG product I will ever buy.
This has nothing to do with the parts distribution company. This review is directed at LG and their entire organization. Very bad attitude and basically no help on an issue they created. One would think that after manufacturing dryers for decades they would know what designs work and which do not. Bad decision on LG's engineers to proceed with a bad design.Read full review...

Great replacement

Fits great!!
Fits perfectly, just like the original. I previously purchased an off brand that stated it was just like the original, but found that not to be true. If you need to replace the lint filter, spend the extra $'s and buy this one!!!

Not a true LG screen. Screen material is not as tight as the original and there are minor differences in the screen frame so that it is not a snug fit. Suspect more lint escapes this replacement screen than the original, therefore more chance of a fire if you do not clean the ducts regularly.Read full review...

Dangerous. Does NOT fit properly, fire hazard.
The one I received almost works, but it doesn't. Moreover, the one I received was not damaged in any way. The problem was in the construction and mold used to make the item. Which makes me believe you could encounter this problem with many if not all these screens. When I tried to install it, it sunk down into the slot a little too far and had gaps between the screen and dryer lint screen housing. In order to protect your dryer from getting lint inside and away from the heating element where it can catch fire, you need a nearly exact fit.Read full review...

Flimsy but works fine
The Original one to my dryer was a sturdier plastic. This fits but the screen is not tight in it and plastic is flimsy. It works but I thought it would be an original replacement.
