This is a must have for anyone that reloads
I purchased this decapping die to try it out to see if it really did what it was advertised as doing. The cases do not have to be cleaned or lubed to decap any size. This is a plus in my book, because it allows you to remove the spent primer first and when you do clean you cases. The primer pocket gets clean also. This die is truly a time saver. The only bad thing I have found is that the decapping pin is not indestructible. I decapped some 9mm cases first with great success, but when decapping some 223 cases. (military case) (double flash holes) The decapping pin broke, so I had to order another, but that's been the only down fall. You just have to sort the double flash holes cases out before decapping. I am glad that I purchase this die. I can install it into my Dillion XL650 with my swag die and the 233/556 cases go pretty quick.Read full review...

Great product, highly recommend!
Have always had issues with my Redding 223 decapping die, bent and/or broken pins, etc. Just frustrating! After last bent pin, decided to go with a universal decapper. Best money I have spent on a reloading tool. Functions great, does just one thing and does it great. No binding, no stuck pins or primers, effortless operation in my RCBS Jr press. Haven't used it on military brass with crimped primers but would expect the same effortless functionality. States pre-cleaning of brass not necessary but I do it anyway especially with range pick brass just to keep sand and grit out of my die. Great product just like my Lee 45 ACP dies. Well designed and they all work great...

Lee Universal Decapping Die
This die is very handy for decapping your spent brass before cleaning. Using clean brass will help avoid gunking up your resizing dies, so having this one die that will take the primers out of virtually any caliber brass is darned handy. Be aware, though, that you need the right shell holder for the brass you're decapping.
One word of advice, get an extra decapping pin. Though Lee claims their pins are virtually indestructible, I managed to break mine the first day I used it when I hit the bottom of a Berdan primed case. I suspect that the collet was too tight from the factory, but none-the-less, the pin broke clean off. The good news is that replacements are under $5.00, so it's easy to have a spare in the toolbox.Read full review...

lee decapping
this is a great tool if you want to remove primers before cleaning and don't want to run dirty brass through your sizing die. and it is a must if you use the lee loadmaster in the first stage. I bought one for each of my different caliper setups. just to save time. I do recommend this product. Read full review...

Minor issues with this one.
This is my fourth Lee Universal Decapping Die and the first that I had issues from the start.
The collet that secures the depriming rod was loose, nothing that a simple tightening wont resolve. Now is working perfectly. Mind to use proper sized wrenches and secure the die to avoid slippage as great force is needed. I got sore knuckles for days some years ago when trying to reset a die and had an accident.
The other three dies are installed on my progressive tool heads and needed an additional one for my single stage press.Read full review...
1000 percent must have for lake city and the sort
So I got a bag of mix headstamp brass from my local gun shop.
Went to decap/ deprime the shells and my resizing pin kept popping up on me.
So after many tries and getting frustrated I read up in the issue and turns out the Lee standard .223 die will not remove military crimp on their brass. I've got a bunch of lake city, a bunch of PMC with very heavy crimp on the primer.
So took the plunge and ordered his little wonder of magic, but not without issues.
The crimp was so tight that I had to work the primer out by multiple pulls of the press arm until it unseated.
It worked and in about 1.5 hours of multiple presses of the arm I managed to decap 256 shells.
Now the fact remains that I would have never been able to decap these without this tool. But if you are having the same issue with military brass, and want to get rid of that God forsaken crimp, buy this tool and a swage tool and work the crimp out. It's worth the time and money especially if you plan on buying mixed head stamp brass again.
Also play it safe and get spare decapping pins you never know when it will break on you.
Must have the reloader, and would tell anyone anytime to buy this tool.
No I'm not being paid to give this review but as I prep and make my own ammo, I realized that is a must in the reloader toolboxRead full review...

This is a must have for rifle reloaders!
Great quality and great finish! It works smooth as butter and it is so nice to be able to de prime before cleaning the cases. And does not require cases to be lubed. Its so nice that one size fits all, just change the shell holder and your de priming the next caliber. I set mine up in an old Pacific Power C press and mounted it on the side of my bench. Great Job Lee for another great and affordable product. Read full review...

Easy to use.
This product makes it easy to de-cap all primers. Saves time changing out full dies. I also appreciate the quick response from the Lee Service Department. Nice bunch of folks.

Lee Universal decapping tool
Lee Universal decapping tool is great if you reload bullets....it speeds up the process even if you have a multi-stage reloading press. You can clean your brass as you have the primer removed and that allows the primer pocket to be cleaned what ever way you clean your brass.Read full review...

Really nice tool
Looked up info on the best decamping die for crimped primers. This die has a very thick pin, thicker than others I've seen. Decals hard crimped primers without signs of any strain on the tool. Would happily buy another if I needed but I think this one will lastRead full review...
