Fabulous! Historical fiction 1860's..I knew nothing about this period of history..when the Jews were leaving the ghettos,serfdom was ending, the American Civil War was happenning, the enlightenment was happenning, Voltaire, Rousseau, Marx and socialism in its beginnings, Palestine was empty and the first Jewish settlements were starting...all within a soap opera-ish style where characters represented each of these changes that were happenning all over the world.
