Great for creativity and practice and allows ipad and headphone use with electric guitar and not have to use my fender mustang amp ..plus get tons of effects with ipad on many apps and can learn record wwith cubasis or garageband etc yousician or various apps.... awesome for guitar

Enjoy it while it lasts, but don’t count it to do so.

For a long time this was a really enjoyable little tool. I used it for about a year and a half. About halfway through that time, it started giving me trouble by vacillating on/off when I plugged it in. I would unplug it multiple times to “fix” it. This was for both iPhone 6 and an older iPad 2. With the iPad 2 it would do this more. Also with the iPad - after the first few months it would not charge the iPad during use. I ordered 2 replacement cables thinking that would do it but to no avail.

Drains iPhone / Tablet battery... no charging capability. Works and sounds OK.

The Sonic Port interface works great for occasional recording or short live performances, but if you play long gigs it will kill your iOS battery and leave your sound stranded. There is no way to charge while using the lightning connector on the interface. I tried several iOS "lightning splitters" but none were compatible. This made it non-viable for me to use live for 3+ hour gigs. Other competitive interfaces include a power charging port.
