The life of Rahab

I highly recommend the women of the Bible series by Francine Rivers. The 5 part series is on women in the lineage of Jesus. This particular book is about Rahab. Francine adds such rich insight to the Biblical story. You get a real sense of what it may have been to live in that time, and she inserts Biblical references often. Because of Rahab's help in hiding the 2 spies that came to Jericho, her and her family were saved. Later Rahab joined the Israelites and married one of the spies she protected, and thus was used in the line of Jesus' family tree.
Francine helps the story come to life. When you again read the Bible account of Rahab, you will feel truly blessed that you had read this book. It is a smaller book, and very easy reading. You'll breeze through it and wish there was more.Read full review...

Story of Rahab

Book 2 in Francine Rivers Novella Series. Excellent book about a girl God used in a mighty way. This book is written in novel form, but is taken from information that God gave to us through His inspired Word, the Bible. Shows how God loves each of us, no matter our background, and how He is willing to work through us if we will allow Him. Unashamed by Francine Rivers

I love this Christian Book about Rahab. It made me really think about what her life might have been like. It also tells me that God had a plan for her life. No matter what if you Love the Lord he can complete change your life. Francine Rivers uses Bible text as much as possible in her books and I really enjoy her writing. If you enjoy Christian books you will really enjoy this book.Read full review...

Makes more sense as you read the book.

This is the 2nd in a series of 5 novellas on the women in the lineage of Jesus Christ. This series came highly recommended to me. As a fairly new woman of faith myself, I've found the series to be helpful in relating the life of women in the period in which they lived. Often, I had to remind myself that this was life long ago for us. There is a study guide at the end of each book to do on your own or with a group.
Personally, I couldn't put it down. Do, however, read them in order. They make more sense.Read full review...

Unashamed

I have now completed reading all of Francine Rivers' five books in her series on the women in the lineage of Christ. She is a compelling writer that draws you into her historical fictional account of five women who lived during biblical times. This book focused on Rahab, and as all of Rivers' books, left me eager and wanting to pick up her next book. Typically I shy away from reading fiction, but after reading these books that really draw you into the historical times and setting (which is based on the true biblical account), I knew that I wanted to complete Rivers' series.
