Does the job

My Linksys AC1200 RE6500-FFP MAX Wi-Fi Range Extender has increased the Wi-Fi signal strength 30% to our smart TV. I was having significant problems with consistent streaming speeds and now that appears to be fixed. The only negative, all be it small, was some trouble with the setup. Very happy!Read full review...

not for cable use

This product works exactly as advertised and does a great job, except for one small and annoying thing. It resets its self every time the computer loses power, and you have to go through the setup function every time. It does not do this with FIOS. It is some quirk with the software that you do not know about until you have the unit. It does everything else as advertised, and seems to be a great little unit, but it is very time consuming to have to reset the unit each and every time the computer looses power for any reason; such as going to sleep, being updated and restarted, or a power surge. Be sure that you know what type of internet connection you have before you buy. If you do not mind resetting it all the time then go for it. Price is good and reliability is fine as long as power is not interrupted.Read full review...

Easy setup, but distance is lacking...

Bought this to fix a problem with a large amount of metal between the Router and back side of a small store.....Very easy to setup, and it helped me locate the best spot. I decided to mount this outside and the signal was marked by the unit as best spot. However, when I activated it, it did and does work very well, but the extended coverage area is very far less then decribed. I will say that the unit performed as well as those that cost much less, and the actual range is about 100 feet at most. That is disappointing, but at least it covers what I need for the time being. I also have a camper on my property and was hoiping it would reach to that, but it only goes to the front at 1 bar, and this is less then 95 feet from the unit with a clear view.....So be warned on how far you need this to go...Also the unit requires ventilation for it becomes quite hot while in use. Worth the extra few bucks vs. el cheapo wall socket extender!

I had a NetGear extender that mounted directly to a wall socket. It was located directly between my router and problem spot in our house. Devices showed full bars but we had major video buffering issues. We installed the Linksys extender in the same location but on top of our dresser (so technically 2 ft away from old location) and now enjoy phenomenal full 4k HD on multiple devices with absolutely NO buffering. Not to mention far more features and capabilities as well as option to add wireless speakers.Read full review...

If you have a weak WiFi signal, this is your answer.

This Linksys AC 1200 Maz range extender worked great for me. I live in a two story house and the WiFi router is on the other side of the house (it can't be more than 50 feet away), but we have 2x12 joists between the levels, so there's a lot of density between the floors - weakens the signal.

I was getting a download speed of 1.1 to 1.8 MB/sec. After installing my new range extender, it's now up to 13-14 MB/sec. That's a world of difference! It's also very easy to install. I first tried to place it in the room where my computer is and the software told me that it's too close to the computer and that I should move it somewhere closer to the router. I did just that and the software told me I had found an optimal position. Very easy to use and it helped me set up my new extender.

Note that this works on both 2.4GHz and 5.0 GHz WiFi.

Early failure.

This unit works well, but as it only have a limited life before failure it really is a waste of money, buy a better brand as Linksys is not the Linksys of old with good reliability, just more cheap junk from a failing companyRead full review...

Good Value for the Money!

Good wifi extender and easy to setup. Good value for the money. And with 4 built in ports, it makes it even more versatile.

Hooks up well to CenturyLink routers

I had a poor WiFi signal in the front of my house and was looking for a extender to boost it. CenturyLink listed the Linksys RE6500 as a compatible booster to the CenturyLink WiFi router. Very easy to hook up and install....no problems. The RE6500 solved the problem. Read full review...

Works Great

This unit was priced very well. Rated toward tops of a few geek lists. Being fairly clumsy with electronics myself, it was extremely easy to install and locate optimal range. My son is a web designer and said it is very fast, professional. Works well with Netflix in basement. I highly recommend it for its performance, value and ease of use.Read full review...

Just ok.

The extender works but the reset button does not work. I have to unplug it to reset. Seems like it gets too hot also. Probably why I have to reset it often. That’s what happens when you buy used electronics.Read full review...
