Living Years by Mike & Mechanics (CD, 1990)

It's all good - really good!

I bought this cd for one song, the title track. Since I first heard it, I've been unable to get through the whole song without breaking down in tears. My father died when I was a kid, it just hits so close to home. It's a trial to try to get through it without breaking. But it just shows the strength of the gift the writer has in penning such a touching song. Which isn't to say the other songs aren't just as brilliant. I enjoy all of them. It takes a special genius to put into words the things so many of us feel and think, but can't string it together in a sentence much less something as reaching as the music here.
And while it hurts, I feel like I'm making just a little bit more progress in dealing with my daddy's death
