Good, sturdy keyboard that would have been great if it used pbt keycaps also and bottom row is not compatible with ansi keycaps.

The g512 and the g513 are great, keyboards. They're the most durable, ruggedly built keybaords I've known and used. At msrp these models of keyboards are not worth it though and here is why:

The entire keyboard is built tough and durable, except for the keycaps which are abs and not pbt. Meaning they will wear/shine eventually. This wouldn't be as bad if they keyboard was fully compatible with ansi keycaps, it is not. The bottom row(spacebar, ctrl, alt, fn, caps lock win keys) have their own weird mesurements. So the standard spacebar and caps keycap will not line up with the stems on the keyboard, also, the other keys mentioned will fit but they look weird/ununiformed.

I'd give this keyboard a 5/5 if logitech used pbt keycaps instead of abs. This keyboard model costs 100 to 120 dollars brand new and for that money the first priority should be pbt keycaps, not abs keycaps. They added a rugged aluminium backplate thats almost immune to bends and scratches and wear, yet didnt add pbt keycaps. Thats a no no for me.
