Heavy duty Makita.

Good heavy duty impact. A lot of torque and really good on the larger bolts and lug nuts. Have to be careful on automotive lug nuts because of the high torque. Just a couple hits can stretch the threads real easy. I am going to get the next size smaller half inch drive Makita impact for automotive work. I tried to just touch the trigger on a 3/4 inch lug nut and the hammer only hit twice and it was over torqued. This wrench will do the job on 3/4, 5/8, and larger bolts easy. The hammer in it is smooth and surprisingly powerful. It is a great wrench heavy duty work but too strong for automotive.Read full review...

seems to be worth the price

Product arrived quickly, price was a bit less than local stores, have only used to remove car lugnuts and it worked very well, battery attachment base does seem loose, will see if it gets worse? Overall would recommend and buy againRead full review...

Absoulutely Love This Impact..Shop Worthy!

I'm a huge fan of Makita products and have been since 30 yrs ago when I started remodeling houses. I have opened a new off-road shop where I purchase 2 more Makita 1/4 drive and now this 1/2 in drive. Everyone in the shop agrees its worth every penny I spent on it.
The impact is very strong and seems to last a long time on the 5a batteries. Its so nice moving around the shop without a air hose.
The only down fall to the impact is the weight and size.. weighing in at 7.5 lbs it will wear you out if used in a extensive amount of time. I would say its size is a direct reflection of its strength. Other than that we have yet to find anything we don't like about it.. even the color is nice.

Very nice tool, high quality.

No air line, highly portable, Makita quality (i'm still using a 9.6v driver/drill that I bought decades ago! Other name brands have quit after a few years.), and it works fine! A 3.0ah battery lasts a very long time. What's not to like?Read full review...

Hands down best bang for the buck

By far the best 1/2” cordless impact I’ve used to date , way more torque then the competitors corded 1/2” impact and in my opinion has just as much torque as any 3/4” inch drive corded impacts , snapped a brand new grade 8 3/4 inch bolt just to prove a point to my supervisor after it was tightened to completion with the 3/4 corded , the 7.5lbs is nothing compared to the impacts weight that have to be used to get the same torque results , Makita has won me over with this one and it definitely stands up to use in industrial type conditions Read full review...

Incredibly powerful

This tool has a ridiculous amount of power for a battery operated tool. I run a lot if Makita tools, and use many 18v cordless daily, and this tool has surpassed my expectations.

Makita makes an Impressive Impact Wrench in this one

This is a great impact wrench. It gets the job done. So far I've used it to remove lug nuts on my vehicles to perform brake replacement. Talk about making my job a lot easier. I didn't wear myself out taking off the nuts therefore making the replacement go a whole lot smoother and faster. There is little to no effort in removing tough lug nuts any more. This Tool Is Strong As F#!k

I can't believe how powerfull and fast this thing is. A review can't do it justice. Beast.

Look at the specs. They are true. Look at the tool reviews online. Look at You Tube. There is a guy called AVE that does takedowns. He has shown that Makita builds real good power tools inside and out.

It is great that Makita stuck with the 18 volt battery format. I can use the same battery that I use from my 9 year old Makita drill. Another tool that has beat any expectations I had.

Cons:
-A bit heavy
-Like all power tools of the past decade, it is designed to look like a futuristic Nike shoe.

It's Makita...

Exactly what you'd expect from Makita as someone who has used the brand for many other tools. The same great quality. Toss the thing on to your benchtop from 15 feet away. Into your toolbox from 10 feet. That's all assuming you can toss this beast in the first place. High torque and a rugged, durable shell. Gets the job done.

10/10 would recommend.

I love it!

This is no toy! There are several different models of Makita impact wrenches. This one is top of the line. If you want high torque, get this one.
The only drawback is it can easily snap bolts if you're not careful. Luckily, it has 3 different power settings. I replaced my Snapon impact with this one. The Makita is far superior. Read full review...
