Review of the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Lever Aluminum Travel Tripod with Ball Head

I was disappointed that the tripod did not include the 494 Center Ball head that the model number given sugested. Model number given was "MKBFRLA4BK-BHUS". My fault in not asking for a photo of the ball head. The ball head supplied was a 490 Center Ball Head.

The tripod is stable enough, (not rock solid) for the fact the legs are smaller in diameter making it lighter and more compact, which is the purpose of the tripod in the first place. The tripod is in great shape, like new. Operates as expected, good qulaity.

Great for travel.

Compact but sturdy. It includes a polymer loop for attachment of a hanging weight for additional stability. However, I am not certain about the shear strength of that loop. It also includes a female threaded attachment point for a Manfrotto, or other brand, auxiliary arm or accessory.

The tripod includes a polymer grip on one of its legs to facilitate a firm grasp surface if the tripod become wet and otherwise slippery.

Good for most DSLRs and Smartphones and Binoculars. May not be suitable for use with very large (600mm or greater) telephoto lens.

Great product but has a little downfall

Great height, weight, folding length, and strength. It does take a while to set up... I don't use tripods that often so it fits my lifestyle but for those who do, think carefully

Great sturdy travel tripod!

Manfrotto Befree Advenced Travel Tripod is a great sturdy yet compact tripod for versatile use. I purchased it more for studio video recordings but I can't wait to take it outdoor as well. This model is actually made in Italy and feels much better and precise comepared to cheaper Manfrotto models (like Compact) that are made in China. The queality of the ball head is great, super smooth movement. Mine came with the optional camo pattern that is pretty cool looking matte anodized. the height is perfect for me as when it's at the tallest it's higher than my eye level that I can adjust down a little to be perfect. The legs can open up to wider stance (3 angles). It's not the lightest but it's worth the extra sturdiness. Your camera vibrating on flimsy tripod is the last thing you want. Read full review...
