Mario Brothers, the Original

This is just like I remember it as an arcade game. The graphics are excellent, although perhaps not perfect. But, then again, I haven't seen that game in the arcade for 30 years or so. I would suspect that the graphics were slightly better as an arcade game than this, but it is excellent. Nothing disappointing either. And this isn't a standard review as I purchased other games that I never played on NES and have some disappointments, although those games were still excellent.

This NES version is far better than the Atari 2600 version, which I also have. The graphics of the Atari 2600 version is very poor compared with this and functionally, you can't punch the critters and make them go forward or backward, only upward.

The NES version does it as I remember it. If you hit a turtle just right, you coulg get it to bounce forward. If you hit a crab just right, you could get it to go backwards for the first hit and forwards for the second hit.Read full review...

A REVIEW OF THE ORIGINAL MARIO BROS.

This product is the original Mario Bros. game that preceded that Super Mario Bros. games. It is a classic game that made its debut in arcades way back in 1983, a followup to the highly successful Donkey Kong series. The screens are generally the same for each level, yet become progressively more and more difficult as enemies move faster and become more plentiful, surfaces change (i.e. become slippery), and additional perils threaten the protagonist, Mario. This game can be played with two players, with another player assuming the role of Luigi, Mario's brother, and two players can work in tandem--one to knock an enemy senseless, and the other to dispatch him. A great deal of fun to play, challenging and entertaining, guaranteed to provide hours of frenzied gameplay. Mario SURVIVAL HORROR

Wow this is a neat game it is so so so neat it's neat boy is it neat. Much beer we have spilled much controllers athrown over this arcade classic here's why; because it's them versus us in what I would call a true "survival horror pioneer game". You know that for a fact you are not getting out alive. It's just a matter of when.. when.. when will the turtles get you.. Get you and destroy you... When you go to the left side of the screen you come out the right when you go to the right side of the screen you come out the left when you jump it makes a great sound and there are coins to get. This game makes the xbox and playstation a joke, and it's a bad joke. The sort of joke that nobody laughs at. The sort of joke that makes you a worse person for hearing it. This game is not for today's kids, today's kids are far to super dumb to play this game. They would be better off playing today's games that suck. Keep it away from them. Before the Mushroom Kingdom, there was the original arcade classic!

The original arcade classic!! Before Mario and Luigi made their names saving the Mushroom Kingdom, they were simply plumbers in the sewers of New York. Avoid baddies and obstacles to get the high score. Worth noting is the very entertaining multiplayer mode, in which two friends can work together to conquer the sewers, or actively attempt to take each other out as they vie for the high score!Read full review...

Grew up with this game🎮 & love it always. Would be nice if Nintendo made a cartridge 3DS version.☺️A mobile phone version would be awesome too.

Classic Mario Bros. Arcade Game

This is the Classic Mario Bros Arcade game. This was around before the NES hit the market. It's classic 80s arcade style. One screen with bad guys coming down from the top allowing you to jump and bump to stop them. Classic Style that just makes you nostalgic. Image Super Mario Bros mixed with Joust and it gives you the perfect picture of the game play of this game. Not the best game but it isn't a super easy game, but it's a lot of fun.Read full review...

GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!

During game play seemed to have a little shake (sideways jitters) but overall good value for the game. Doesn't impact playing or controller responsiveness.
