A Fair Title - Unique, But Could Be Better

Rise of the Imperfects takes some classic Marvel characters and mixes them up with some new characters that we meet for the first time in this game. What follows is a sequences of short levels where you can take control of different heroes, like Wolverine, DareDevil, Spiderman, Venom, Storm and more. The graphics are pretty interesting as we are presented with a world that looks remarkably real. The charatcers and scenaries almost have a Sin City type feel to them...that's really the best thing about this game. The levels are REALLY short, literally taking about one to two minutes to complete. Basically, each level just wants you to defeat the several enemies within. It's not overly complex, but it's so mind numbing and repetative that you'll start to get bored really quick. Each character has their respective powers and/or weapons, but the controls are really simple and there's not much of a variety of moves and attacks. While utilizing the enivronment can be quite fun, the action falls quite short...as I said, the levels are short, so by the time you're getting into it, it ends. Also, at times, you do get to play as the villains, but that can really mix you up in the storylines; not to mention, when you play as the villains, you're basically choosing which hero you want to have killed off. Why? Doesn't really make much sense to me...especially since they don't WARN you of this the first time. I killed off Wolverine without even knowing that would happen! It's a lackluster game that really showed some promise. The other mode of play is just the standard one on one fighting mode between the various characters of the game. However, you have to progress through the sleep inducing story mode to unlock all the characters. There are other unlockables, but you really won't care because the rest of the game doesn't keep you playing to get these unlockables. All in all, I'd say even Marvel fans should steer clear of this game...there are worse super hero games on the market (*cough* AquaMan *cough*), but it's not worth enduring.Read full review...

I love this game, but i dont care for the language....

I am 40 years old , and my son in law and i play this game. We enjoy the game, but, i keep the sound turned down because of the language. We do not use foul language, and dont care to hear it. I have a younger child that is sometimes present in the room when we play, which is another reason to keep the sound off.
I dont understand why they cant make movies and games without using foul language. I feel like it is a sign of immaturity if you cant talk with out using offensive language. We should be more civilized than that. I am giving this game a average rating because of the language. otherwise, it would be a better rating.

Great game!

I bought this game because I wanted a game that had marvel characters such as iron man, wolverine, spiderman, etc. I didn't expect that I would get all of these characters and more! This game has a batch of all new characters called the imperfects, which, in their own sense, are a whole new universe of superheroes. Some of these imperfects rival the strength and speed of the main marvel characters, such as Paragon, the strongest of the Imperfects, can defeat almost any other character as long you have some minor skill in controlling her abilities.Read full review...

Great game

I had so much fun with this game before, so I decided to buy it again when I found a old GameCube console in my basement. Still a blast.

The Thing and Company!

I decided to buy this item, mainly because I was on a Fantastic Four kick, and was on the market for a new GameCube game. The idea of a motley crew of superheroes together in one game...I was sold. Highly recommended, and I hear there will be a new game in the same spirit for the soon-to-be-released Ninteno Wii. When that's released, I'm there. :)Read full review...

Great!

Interesting story & very iconic characters from marvel universe the gameplay has much to offer but still holds up exceptionally. It would have been great to see a second game perhaps it's not to late.

A super fun fighting game for GameCube system.

My 7 year old son and 10 year old girl both love this game. They prefer the GameCube system over all others and Marvel Nemesis is one of their favorite games of all time for some reason. The graphics make me cringe, but they have more fun playing it than any other.Read full review...
