Buy/bid with confidence.

Hard to wrong with Mexell discs. These CDRs are the 'digital audio' type (it is part of the CD logo) that work in CD Recorders (such as machines made by Philips, Teac, etc.) in addition to burning on a computer. I have a Philips records and transfer concert recordings from tape sources. Maxell is a top choice.Remember, it must state 'Digital Audio' within the Compact Disc logo to be used on those specialty stand-alone recorders.Read full review...

Couldn't get it to play the volume.

There is no volume. It appears the program was burned on the disc and it shows on Windows Media Player as playing, but I cannot hear it. I burned the exact same program onto a Verbatim disc and it worked fine. The same for a Memorex disc.Read full review...

Good, but with caveats

When these Maxell blank CD-R Music discs work, they work well. However -- and one has no way of knowing if it's a problem with the discs or the CD player/recorder machine -- sometimes a disc will show up as being "NG" (no good) on the machine. Much more rarely, I have had a disc which duly recorded the content, but then refused to be finalized, or would not play back after being finalized. The problem is that, unless one is willing to pay through the nose for alternative imports (such as Memorex or Sony) from Japan, these are the only CD-R Music discs still being made for external CD player/recorder units.

(NOTE: Do NOT be deceived by ad for computer CD-R discs that advertise "for music" in a byline -- they are not the same type of disc!! The two types are not interchangeable: These discs will not record on a computer CD-R disc burner, and those discs will not work in an external CD player/recorder. To work in the latter type of device, the disc must specifically be identified as "CD-R Music" in the disc name on the package, as these Maxell discs are.)

The best sounding Music CD-R

Being semi-old school I haven't switched to full digital formats. To get high quality sound the associated costs are too prohibitive for this senior. So burning discs to back-up the originals for road trips or turning on a friend to some new tunes this is the answer. Maxell produces by far the best Music CD-R out there. That said, these discs are for special equipment only, not your computer. Be advised. Anyway, while this is a good product vinyl still sounds best to me!Read full review...

This product is what my recorder had to have

I had purchased a stand alone rd recorder that would only work with this type of CD-R disc, I suppose big city stores might still sell these but they are not available in my town.

Good quality, good value

I have no complaints. This product has performed as expected. I think there'sg probably higher qualty for real audio buffs but be assured there will be a higher price to pay. This one meets all my needs as an average stereo fan.Read full review...

Highly recommend Maxell

For those of you old schoolers like me who still record vinyl or others such as 78 rpm off the turntable and on to CD (records have better fidelity than filtered recordings such as on You Tube) these are what you need as plain CD-R discs won't work. But I would stock up now as these are likely no longer being made and what's being sold is likely leftover stock. Maxell has always been a good disc and I highly recommend. BEWARE of no-name products out there as I bought 90 such discs some years ago and 74 of them were bad as they wouldn't play back right, if at all. This you right remember was the same story with VHS tapes during their day. Don't buy a no-name product as the savings aren't worth it.Read full review...

Maxell Means Quality

I have been buying Maxell products since the 1970's when I started buying blank 8-track tapes. It continued on into the 80's and 90's when I was buying blank cassette tapes. Now I buy Maxell blank CD's because of their unparalleled quality and value. Therefore, I am a lifetime Maxell user.Read full review...

Best blank CD for music

I have been using Maxell for music CD's for years and have not found anything that beats them for the money. I used to think a blank CD was a blank CD. Not anymore!
