GPS for Dummies

This a nice basic and super simple GPS, and it is in the "For Dummy's" format.
Has an easy to use interface, and good touchscreen, I received it without directions and was up and running no problem.
The voice turn by turn is very good, volume OK, and leadtime though somewhat annoying is Great.
It tells you up to .2 miles to turn.
3D feature is not as good as others, but easy to see and understand.
Bonus is it has both a JEPEG and Vid viewer through a SD memory card, and also ebook reader.
Good battery life on my unit, and a rubber coated case.
also has a walking mode.

Overall I rate it very good, basic, and if picked up used/cheap GREAT.
I would reccomend.

it's great if you're in a new town and just need a little help navigating.

It is slow to load and sometimes doesn't respond when you click. I can't get the volume button to work most of the time. It saves your most recent destinations but I couldn't get the "favorites" feature to work.

Also it says "keep right" instead of "take exit" or tells you to turn on a road you are already on because the name changes. sometimes it says "turn" when it should say "keep." It seems to like to take back roads instead of main roads. I do like that sometimes it remembers the roads you took last time you went to a destination instead of running you in circle, which it likes to do. If you miss a turn it will try to get you back to that road.

If you know roughly where you are it is good, but if you're completely lost it isn't very helpful. If you're planning on going long distances invest in something a little more expensive.

Excellent value for the money and easy to use

I bought this product because I love going to estate sales, garage sales, etc. and I am not always familiar with street locations. This handy GPS unit gets me there quickly and easily. It even tells me when I am exceeding the speed limit! It was a snap to set up, and the easy to follow prompts are also easy to understand. I am not an electronic whiz and I was able to start using this item with ease immeaditely. You can charge the battery in the car via the cigarette lighter, or by plugging it into your computer. I love it. There is nothing not to like about this product, and it does the same job as the more pricier units.Read full review...

How did I ever do without one of these?

I love that it was easy to program, I love that it gives great step-by-step directions, and the price was excellent. My son was forever getting lost, and this has been a godsend. He will be going away to college next year, and it will be perfect for finding his way around.Read full review...

Good Travel Companion

The GPS was shipped to AR from CA. It took only a few seconds to locate satellite signals. I drove from AR to CO and it directed me correctly all the way. I've only found one "glitch", it didn't show me on one "established" street but the one located parallel to it 1/4 mile away. Probably a software correction needed. Good backup/internal battery will actively power the unit for a little over 2 hours. The selling price was great.Read full review...

A cute GPS easy to use

This is a cute little GPS and easy to use but is not built very well it is obviously cheaply made and appears to be quite fragile. the sound is a little lower than other GPS systems but is still loud enough to hear. If you are looking for a low cost GPS system this may be the one for you but if you can afford a better system you will be happier.Read full review...

Average GPS for an average price

The FD-220 system is functional, the satellite response could be faster. There is no menu button for quick access to the main screen, and the POI function is not easily accessible. However, it comes with a suction cup car mount, usb cable, and car-power adapter. This device is great for the novice gps user. The system calls out street names and allows the user to bypass roads if they chose. Overall a decent GPS unit for a decent price; not too fancy but good enoughRead full review...
