A great FPS thats better than Frontline.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a huge improvment over Frontline.

First of all, the game is even more dramatic. It starts off with the Pearl Harbor bombing scene, which is even more dramatic than the Omaha Beach scene Frontline started with. The game's levels are much more fun, and are more exciting. Rather than leading you down a linear path like in Frontline, there are several paths, and many ways to get each thing done. However, there are no puzzles, just bigger and more complex levels.

Rising Sun takes place in the Pacific. Certain levels have you in a boat, and the water effects are incredible. Graphics are very good, with more detail than in the first. There is still no blood or gore. The sound effectds are again excellent, and the music adds to the cinematic feel.

Control is great as well. There are two setups to choose from, just like in Frontline. One is classic, using one analog stick. The other is a dual analog stick setup that plays like Red Faction 2 or Halo. You can also fully customize it from the options menu.

Multiplayer is included this time around. It feels much better than the muliplayer mode from Frontline. The levels are well designed, and there are over 15 of them. There is no online play, but four player split screen is supported.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a must buy FPS. It is historically accurate, and Frontline's flaws are cleaned up.

This game has been out for a long time, and I would have expected a reversal in quality. But everything was as new.

A very fun game for my brother & I at a very low price!

I bought this game in the first place because the game has a co-op feature in which allowed both my little brother and I to play the single player story mode. Another reason why I bought this game was that I didn’t play it for five years and I really wanted to see what it was like again playing it. My final reason of purchasing this game was that eBay offered it for such a low price; I believe it was only $4 or $5 total including the shipping.

What I liked most about this game was playing it with my little brother. My brother and I beat this game within three days; it was difficult at times, however I consider it a very easy game to beat. Another reason why I liked it a lot was the fact that I am a World War Two history buff and this game goes hand in hand with my interests. One last reason why I liked this game a whole bunch was the enormous size of the levels!

What I disliked about this game was the fact that its graphics lack compared to the other Medal of Honor games that were even created before this game was made. However, I can’t dislike this game too much, because after all it was made in 2003. You got to accept it for what it is. Of course there is PS3’s and Xbox 360’s, etc; however this game was great for it’s time and you can verify it by reading the many reviews on it, and of course by playing it! So if you are a World War II nut and love shooter games, I say go for it!

Don't bother

After playing this for half an hour or so, I could see why I got it so cheap.
Although the beginning Pearl Harbor sequence was OK, after that it was unrealistic, slow moving, slow action.
The enemies are like robots that for the most part keep doing the same thing over and over. And the Gunny Sarge on top of the slow moving tank with a shotgun calling out orders...cheezy.
I will try to play along further if I get really bored and if it get any better, I will update this review.
For now a real disappointment after playing even the old CODs and the newest Medal of Honor(very good).

This may be ok for a child's first game for the cheap price, but if you are looking for some good WW2 action, look elsewhere.

aged game that pales next to the call of duty series!

i had this game when it first came out and thought it wasn't bad but not nearly as good as m.o.h. allied assault. years rolled by and i have all of the call of duty games for my 360. i saw this game for a good price and thought i'd check it out again. boy does his game stink! even for 2003. bland graphics and controls are terrible! if your a ww2 buff, this is the only console game i know of that takes place in the pacific (thats why i got it), so for a few bucks, it's worth checking out (can't believe i payed 50 bones for this 5 years ago!!!).Read full review...

Not as Good as Frontline

Gameplay is buggy, the men in your company will watch you get bayoneted to death and do nothing. The terrain is confusing. Plants and trees are not well rendered.
Overall gameplay is frustrating, weapons aren't as fun to use.
This game is OK if purchased for cheap money, but not as good as the first game of the XBOX series, Frontline.
