Best 8-bit Mega Man game of all time...

Mega Man 2 on the NES is in fact the best well made game of all time especially with its difficulty option on the menu screen in the American version which I’m reviewing today. You got 8 robot masters and other challenging Dr. Wily fortress levels in mega mans way from getting to the final show down with the evil Dr Wily. The music is memorable, the levels are challenging(Heat Man and Quick Man stages) and not too difficult in some others (Bubble Man, Wood Man stages). You can beat the bosses by using, for example bubble lead on Heat Man to easily gain a victory.
All in all, best charming Mega Man game of all time!

Five console generations later and it's still great

I first played Megaman 2 way back in 1989 when it first came out for the NES. My first impression was that this one of the best games ever. 20 years on it's still amazing. It has the elements of every great Megaman game: Great bosses, secrets, power-ups, and an incredible musical score for an 8-bit game. Megaman 2 is fun but it's a challenge to be sure. It's one of the most memorable games of all time for these reasons, and at the time it was a new thing to have a password system, which is great because you can't save your progress.

If you're reading this, obviously you don't know how revered this game is. This game is a must-have classic for all retro gamers and all fans of Megaman.

Still Holds Up After 30 Years!

Mega Man 2 for the NES is one of those classic games from your childhood actually holds up pretty well. The music in this game is absolutely legendary! The game-play is highly addictive and you won't want to put it down until you've beaten the game. I would rank it among the top 5 titles for the Nintendo Entertainment System.Read full review...

Top 10 Nes game sequels

Gameplay 10

Graphics 9

Sound 10

Value 10

Tilt 8

* Difficulty: Just Right
* Learning Curve: 0 to 30 Minutes
* Time Spent: 40 to 100 Hours

If you want to play a flawless game for the NES, then Mega Man 2 is your match. It is the golden gem that spawned many sequels. It has the perfect game play that you would not expect after playing the original Mega Man. It was huge step up from the original that made it one of the best sequels ever released in video game history

It is a platformer/action game where you control the boy robot, Mega Man. You are sent out on a quest to defeat the eight Robot Masters. Mega Man gains the signature weapon of each Robot Master after defeating him. The Robot Masters have weaknesses to the weapons of certain other Robot Masters; therefore, choosing the order in which the levels are played is a vital component of the game play. The stages are awesome, but the game play was not the reason why Mega Man 2 is one of the greatest games of all time.

The soundtrack is the best video game music ever composed for any game. The music in these levels are legendary and it is very close, if not the closest, to the top of the video game soundtrack world.

Mega Man 2 added its own conventions, which made it the base of the series. If you did not have the chance in your childhood to play this classic (and I am sorry for you), then go out there and get it somehow and play the masterpiece that will always have a place in the history books.

Best Mega Man title on the NES

Mega Man 2 was the first of the epic series I first land eyes and hands on. Looking back on the entire series (on the NES at least) it remains my favorite title. It helped launch Mega Man further into the mainstream and had some memorable enemies, music, game play and graphics.

While I always considered this among the easiest Mega Man titles, do not be fooled – it is extremely difficult. The only time I was ever able to beat it with ease was on the Mega Man Anniversary collection.

When you play Mega Man 2 you'll immediately recognized why it was followed by four sequels on the NES, one of the SNES, one on the PS1/Sega Saturn and then, many years later, on the Virtual Console.

If this isn't in your gaming collection yet, first feel shame and then purchase it on Ebay or at your nearest flea market – it also happens to be more affordable than its counterparts in the series.

Great game, fun to play.

This game is challenging and fun. The levels are difficult & lead up to a boss challenge. After you win, you absorb the special powers the boss uses. Overall it’s a fun game.

A tougher genre than today....

Megaman 2 is one of the best games for Nintendo of all time!! From the boss levels to the weaponry and the color schemes; this is a big jump for those of you who have played the previous title.
The only real flaw with this game is that once you have memorized the boss' patterns, replay value goes down slightly (unless you switch up the order in which you beat them or try doing it with ONLY the arm cannon.)
Otherwise, this is one of the best titles to own for NES and will give a lot of new-aged gamers of today a look back of what a real video game is and should be to this day; not just cool graphics, more cel shades, crazy gadgets etc.; you need something that makes you "work" for your reward!
