Eye Candy For Fashion and Photography Lovers
This book features men's fashion designs by Gianni Versace, photographed by top photographers such as Bruce Weber, Richard Avedon, and Herb Ritts. There are also numerous fashion illustrations (the illustrations are my favorite part of the book- and the reason I wanted it in the first place) by illustrators such as Thierry Perez.
This book is actually more about style than it is about fashion. Many of the models are not wearing anything at all. The model on the front cover of the book is ONLY wearing ties. Versace wanted the book to be about people "free from restrictions", and I think the book successfully conveys that idea throughout, in a tasteful and artistic way. The photos and illustrations are outstanding.
The vast majority of the models in the book are male, although there are a few photos showing female models (Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford etc.) Everyone shown in the book is gorgeous; this book features page after page of beautiful people in beautiful settings wearing beautiful clothes (or not.) Overall this book is a real feast for the eyes.Read full review...
In short, a beautiful and fitting tribute to the fallen fashion genius.
Fantastic collection of images showcasing Gianni Versace's breadth of talent. Published shortly after his death in 1997, it is a beautiful homage to the man and his work.
