Feels and Works Awesome!

So i've been thinking about getting an elite or scuf controller for a while. I saw an open box elite controller for $119, so i decided i'd give it a try. The Elite controller is excellent. The build quality is excellent. Set up and use is extremely easy, you can use the "Xbox Accessories" app on xbox one to map the buttons, triggers and paddles to what ever configuration you want. I noticed in Call of Duty i would get killed by people who were jumping aiming and shooting all at the same time. This is pretty much impossible with the OEM xbox one controller. Now that i have an elite controller this action is super easy and really takes my game to a new level. I have almost an unfair advantage against my opponents. The controller comes with 2 AA batteries (Duracell), a heavy duty fabric 10ft micro USB cable to plug the controller into your xbox. It also comes with a nice case to keep all your extras in. It comes with 3 sets of analog joysticks that are different lengths so you can customize the sticks to your play style, and 4 paddles that attach to the back. switching the paddles and joysticks is incredibly easy and are all connected by magnets. You don't need to use all 4 paddles i'm only using one currently. Also with the xbox accessories app you can fine tune the distance of motion and speed your joysticks will travel before responding, 4 separate vibration controls, and even how bright the home button glows on the controller. All in all i know $150 seems a lot to spend on a controller for video games but compared to a similar Scuf controller this is way cheaper. This controller is also an official Microsoft controller, so it's backed by a year warranty. I would recommend this to anyone who needs more control while playing. It takes a little to get used to but it's definitely worth it. Read full review...

PAY the few extra bucks for a NEW one - AVOID "Referb"

This is my 2nd Elite controller (1st one broke a bumper after falling off tv stand). Best controller hands down. However, not really much different than a standard Xbox controller for the money, Paying for the 'feel' and solid construction and interchangeable parts and options of mapping - which is pretty cool but not for everyone. My 2nd one listed here was a "refurb" - I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND PAYING A FEW BUCKS MORE AND GET A NEW ONE. This 'refurb' is serviceable but clearly a 'blem'.Read full review...

Not Bad, Not Great

I would say if I was to buy this controller for like $50, around the same ball park as a Steam controller I would have been able to look past some of the faults. Since it cost so much though the expectation is that what you are getting is going to be awesome. I would say anything on the top of the controller is excellent. The swappable joysticks snap on and feel secure and the movement is really smooth. The swappable D-pad also feels very secure. The hair triggers work really nicely as well.

Where the controller falls short for me is the bottom paddles. Everything that is swappable on this controller is magnetic and for the other parts I mentioned they are very secure, the paddles are not. If you happen to push one of the paddles slightly at an angle it will push it out of alignment and rub against the lower paddle then you have to stop what you are doing and push them both back in to place. On the left side of my controller I opted to just not use one of the paddles... partly for comfort because of the way I hold the controller, but the bigger reason was even if I did not strike the buttons at an angle the paddles rubbed together because they were to close to each other.

Long story short great controller if you ignore the problems with the bottom paddles, but for the price you pay I feel like that is kind of a big deal.

Elite Controller Rocks over any other Xbox Controller

After buying 3 wireless xbox wireless controllers and each breaking in their own way & figured after spending about $59.99 each I should try the ELITE for about $149.99.. I am so glad. After 3 weeks now not a single problem and it is made so much better then the rest. Many ways to change the all around buttons of the game so it is more comfortable in my hands. Feels better and the way I can change the controller to the way I want it to makes this way Better then any other controller out there.Read full review...

Great product!

Despite being a refurb, it may as well be brand new. Came with everything it was supposed to come with. Takes a long time to make adjustments to using the triggers on the back of the controller as opposed to the standard a b x y buttonsRead full review...

It feels great

The Xbox one elite controller is a better value when compared with other controllers like the Scuf or Battle Beaver. You can customize any and all buttons at a moment’s notice by flipping a switch without the need of special tools or even going in to the settings on the console. The dead zone of the joystick can be adjusted from delay to very aggressive sensitivity. The triggers can be set to be as sensitive or smoothly as you like. All in all a great value if you like customization and versatility, this is a great option for pro’s and amateurs alike.Read full review...

Quality!!

For the price brand new(No!) maybe used and not abused (yes!) it’s all great but if you happen to have fat sausage fingers like me, it gets hard since, (well with me) my fingers happen to press the trigger pedals at the same time. Besides that it’s a good controller, not going to make you a badass playing online but at least you look cool using it while your peasant wife is using the OEM one. Just saying it’s all for the looks, like my marriage but that’s for another review.Read full review...

Great and not so great

I have been using this new Xbox One Elite controller for a few weeks now and it is a very high quality controller.
Been using it on my PC and on the Xbox one and the only gripe is i can not get used to the 4 extra controls on the bottom so i just do not use them. As far as a controller though it is superior to the original controller in every way.
I like the rubber coating for superior grip and i do change out the joystick on different games. i like the taller ones on FPS games for more precise control combined with the hair trigger adjustments. And i also like the shorter joysticks for racing games. And speaking of racing games the rumble motors are excellent as now you have separate rumble controllers for the triggers to feel when the brakes lock up or you loose traction under acceleration.

PROS.....
excellent quality
heavy duty
great feel
convertable
hair triggers
Extra rumble motors

CONS.....
heavy
Battery cover not easy to remove so use 2 thumbs when removing.
not liking the extra controls under side (but easy removeable) so
a newer user will most likely get used to the extra buttons easier than a older player.

Been gaming for over 10 years and this is the best controller i have ever used. Highly recommended.
Due to the quality feel and easy convertible the price is not bad i always felt quality is very important and price is good for what you get.

Great condition

The device is working just fine so far. I wanted to get as close to a new elite controller as possible, and Best Buy has made that possible. The feel of the elite controller outshines the standard one by far. Thanks BB.Read full review...

Worth the price to upgrade from the basic Xbox One gamepad

Upgrading from the Bluetooth Xbox One controller to the Wireless Xbox Elite controller was well worth it. The extra paddles on the back make all the difference in the world for certain games (FFXIV, to be more specific) since I was at a loss regarding extra buttons for Discord push-to-talk and the like.

The only complaint I have is the fact that the paddles can only be mapped to gamepad functions but a simple $15 purchase of reWASD fixed that for me. The ability to map the paddles to keyboard inputs is exactly what I wanted with this thing.

The only xbox controller for me

The elite is the only controller for hardcore Xbox gamers. scuff controllers are ok, but the elite is where its at, I've had 2 now, both I bought used, and had minor problems. But the elite is easy to work on as well, even if you're not tech savvy, there's plenty of tutorials to get you through amy process. The biggest reason elites are superior to scuff, in my opinion, is it's versatility. There are what seem to be endless possible customization in both button mapping, and the physical set up. With thumb sticks of 3 sizes to fit your play style, and two different d-pads. Most importantly are the paddles, you can map any button to any one paddle. There's also a profile feature on the Xbox sothat you can use to save botton layouts, I usually title the layout with a games name so I know its for that game. Theres also a switch on the controller that lets you swap between to profiles on the fly. I'll never buy or even use if I have a choice another controllerRead full review...
