Midway's Arcade Treasures 2 (GAMECUBE)

I grew up in the 80s (ok ok my condolences)and these are some of the games I grew up with. Games like Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 (MK 1 was included on the PC version. Copy protection doesn't work with other Windows OS past Windows XP), Gauntlet 2, Xybots, NARC, Timber, Xenophobe, Primal Rage, Arch Rivals, just to name a few. I did find this game for XBOX, but XBOX 360 doesn't support this game. The Gamecube version is a solid offering of classic games.
GRAPHICS look like how I remember them. As of this writing, original sound effect are present. I have yet to check out the other games on this disk.
CONTROL No matter which game system you are using, either Nintendo Gamecube or Wii, I find the control for the games very good. Taking in account the control configuration from back in whatever games arcade debut. I use the standard Gamecube controller. If you got one, I do recommend the Nintendo Wavebird wireless controler. I have tried to use the Nintendo Classic controler for Wii. I don't see any response for this game. I believe this to be user error.
SOUNDS present to me sound orginal. There was a moment loading data interfered with the sound. At the moment this happened, it did not intrfere with the acutal gameplay.
IN CONCLUSION, this is a very nice collection of vintage games. The lineup is a good choice of games. My nices like playing these games as if they were new. Well, they are new to them. Because I also own Midway's Arcade Treasures 1 - 3 on XBOX, if I can get ahold of a original XBOX, I would love to give those a shot. PC version is good if you can deal with installing the game and have Windows XP. Any OS higher than XP (Windows Vista, Windows 7), the Starforce copy protection is NOT COMPATIABLE! If you have a original XBOX, get the XBOX version. If you got a Wii, definately get the GAMECUBE VERSION.

Great emulation but ruined by the controller

I bought this for mk2, and 3 as well as hard drivin, pit fighter, and primal rage. Hard driven is fine but as for the fighting games. Well unfortunately the Gamecube d-pad makes these games unplayable! The Gamecube has the single worst d-pad ever! If you want this get it for ps2. Sony has the best d-pad ever. Try getting an arcade stick for this game. This is also bad using the Xbox d-pad. Getting your character to move forward or backwards a lot of the times causes them to do a flip or whatever the character wants to do. Also i have the Xbox arcade stick and it royally sucks. Trying to flip is a real task.Read full review...

Arcade Games For One Low Price.

Another Game collection that doesn't get a 5 out of 5. I would have given this game yet again a 5 out 5, if they made saving the game to the memory card available. The only option for the memory card is to save your scores, and your controller options. This game blows the Midway Arcade Treasures out of the water, first off you got Rampage World tour. This is a face lift towards the classic Rampage. There are 3d renders, and it looks nice and smooth. I paid $20.00 for this game alone on the PS1. Second You have both Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat 3. I spent a fortune on quaters for both of these games back in the arcade. Third you have TOTAL CARNAGE.... Do I have to say any more about that game. The Smash TV fans, and the Robrotron fans know what Total Carnage is. The only problem I have with Total Carnage is the controller lay out. Just like the Previous games Robrotron & Smash TV, this game had 2 joysticks back in the days of the Arcade. The Yellow c stick on the controller does not completley make it simple to play this game. Unfortunatley for every good game they have in this serries there is also a bad game for example Pit Fighter. But 20 games for $19.99, How can you beat that price. I paid $75.00 for Mortal Kombat for the Super Nintendo, so $20.00 to relive some of your old memories is not a bad deal at all.Read full review...

Midway Arcase treasures was as expected. No big wow

It was as expected. No big wow or anything. I was hoping there were more games on it and didn't pay close attention to that when I purchased it. It does work well and has the feeling and fun of the old arcade games.Read full review...

9 out of 10 Best Midway Treasures Game.out there.

9 out of 10

Midway Treasure 2(MT-2) Is the Best out there next to the Midway Treasure PC. MT-1 and MT-3 was Lame. Mt-1 had Paperboy. and Mt-3 had all the Rush Games. Which was alright if you like racing. But most of the games in MT-2, like the mortal kombat 2 and 3, was some if the best classes game ever. everyone should get a copy.Read full review...

Not Worht It!!

This game is great if you want to relive your childhood game playing experience,(those of us that are at least 30). This game includes most of the original games that first came out,(seems like a hundred years ago), and the graphics are just that, OLD!Read full review...
