great small unit

it is very easy to find addresses and add via or continue points to your route, you can zoom in and move around the map without having to change screens. this is really valuable when you need to look around your area quickly and then go back to navigating. it is flat and fits in your shirt pocket. it has a easy to find usb charging port and uses easy to find usb chargers. i use this one in my commercial truck because it is rugged enough to stand the bouncing and vibrations. My first one lasted over three years and the usb port broke when I yanked the cord by accident. this is my second one. I also have 6 other gps units including a $500 garmin. I still think this unit is the best for the money.Read full review...

Very good entry level GPS device.

Note that my "Good" rating is for a 'entry level' device.

Works well in general, does what is supposed to do, and will take you there, sooner or later, but it will do.
Here my pros:
1) price: almost unbeatable for the features
2) display is very good, even though it's just 3.5 in
3) will take you there :D

After a while using it (about 2 years 2007-2009) these are my complaints:
1) not sure if it can be updated with new maps (right, you can google it ;-) and find out what is in fact out there
2) when it powers off for good, when the battery drains, you have to reset the clock and calendar: very annoying
3) POI are hard to figure out... enough said: I don't use them
4) Very limited computer connection, in fact, just the bare minimum for a "reset to factory setup"
5) some settings are convoluted to reach or figure out, but in general, it's ok

If you are tech geek, look elsewhere.

Would I recommend it ? Probably for a price conscious person, yes.

For $20-$30 bucks its worth it. Anything over that you're paying to much.

Decent GPS for a beginner. Has most features that anyone would ever need in a GPS. Navigates perfectly and QUICKLY finds GPS signal.
Overall: 4/5

Display: 4/5 - Not as pretty as newer GPS systems

Features: 3/5 - Lacks a few features like the ability to show Max Speed

Ease of use: 3/5 - Slightly difficult to navigate through the screens and limits you on occasion when typing in an address.

Overall Value: 5/5 - For the price you can't beat it. If you pay over $20-$30 for this you're paying too much.

Great little GPS

I like this gps. Works great. I had a Magellan RoadMate before. Got this one for my 88 year old aunt. But she preferred the Magellan RoadMate. But for me, it's fine. A little harder to use, imo, than the Magellan RoadMate. But once you get used to it, no problem. It has a male voice, which was different. Not quite as quick to correct as the Magellan RoadMate, but it does well.

Bottom line, if you can get this for under $25 go for it. You won't regret it!

Great little gadget

When I decided to get a gps i needed a "no B.S." kind of device that is easy for this technically challenged guy to get along with. The Mio fits the bill quite nicely. I do wish that since it was a "new in the box" item it would have had a little more recent software included with it. I am a firm believer in "ya get what ya pay for" and I didn't pay much for it & it has already saved my but during a recent visit to Cincinnati, lost on a detour it found the easiest route to get me back home and that's exactly why I purchased it. So I'm a happy guy. If you're looking for a gps to get you from point a to point b this is what you need, if you want a fancy device to impress other technoids look somewhere else.Read full review...

GPS receiver

I was looking for a GPS because of a trip I am taking. I have never been there before. The GPS was easy to program to the certain city. The only thing I did not like about it was from my house it took a round about way to get to a certain point and it uses meters instead of good old american feet. I tried to change to feet but to no avail. I dont know how accurate it will be when I really get on the road. I also liked very much the price and shipping. Good productRead full review...

Mio GPS perform well for the cost

I purchased this unit to use on a motorcycle and it had to have a earphone jack as the Mio 220 does have. When I received this unit , it was a Mio 230 and does not have a ear phone jack. It still did what I needed it to do, but I had to install my own phone jack into the case. It was not very hard to do, so I just kept it and put it into use. It performs very well on the motorcycle and sound is great thru headset. I own another Mio230 which I have had in service for years now and find they hold up and work very well.Just would have been much easier if this had actually been a 220 unit that already had the phone installed. Other than that ,these units work great and are very user friendly.Read full review...

Best little gps!

I have owned a c220 MIO gps for about 1.5 years now. They have alot of features for a small price. Very easy to use and accurate. I recently took a trip to Italy and had to rent a tom tom because I only have the sd card for the USA in my MIO. The tom tom was awful. The tom tom would get off route and could not re-locate itself with out turning the unit off then back on. It may have been the one unit and not the whole tom tom brand, but I'll keep my Mio for ease of use either way!Read full review...

This is a very cool inexpensive gps system, love it!

I really like the MIO c220 GPS system, i actually have one and bought one for my best friend. We use the system to do something called geocaching (kind of an electronic treasure hunt)to get us close to cache, it directs you street by street with both voice and visual prompts. The screen is very easy to see and operate for even a novice, nice easy buttons to push even for bulky fingers like mine.Highly recommended for the budgeted gps user.Read full review...

GREAT ENTRY LEVEL GPS

This was my 1st gps. Very easy to use. I purchased it 3 years ago and it still works perfect. I use this daily as I am a nurse and do home health--Would be lost without it!!! There are now many more GPS to pick from on the market but consider the price and how much you will use it on a day to day basis--for the money you can't beat this one--also the person that wrote a review and stated that it only does meters--the settings are not correct--also if you don't have an American chosen to tell the directions--you have picked a British person it will speak in English but give directions in meters.Read full review...
