Awesome little Amp!

I received a little amp very fast it was well packed. The main reason I bought this amp was because it had on board Reverb. I have to say I was a bit disappointed at first with the Reverb. I hooked my DigiTech effects processor up to the app and even in bypass mode wow the amp seem to come to life and the Reverb works better than too which kind of puzzles me. I've been playing guitar 42 years and I have to say this amp is just awesome. You can't buy a name brand amp that is going to sound any better than this and probably not as good as this especially for this price range. I've Been Told that today's tubes are either made in China or Russia. I've seen a lot of reviews claiming the tubes are no good and need to be replaced however the ones in my app seem just fine. Mind you now I've only had it two weeks it's going to take a while to break in the speaker but it still sounds great even brand new. I just hope I have no problems with it over the years I've noticed a lot of problems with tubes and biasing them and all this stuff so to be honest I've always been more of a solid-state guy especially since the bass guitars my main instrument. I do play guitar though in fact it was my first instrument I love the tone of this guitar thank you Monoprice for keeping the price so low.Read full review...

Yes, it's a real tube amp and it sounds great!

Hard to believe you can get this much sound with an amp;under $300.
I'm a blues harp player. This 15W tube amp gives me more sound I will ever need for open mic nights around town. The Gain can make the sound nasty as you wish or don't use Gain and just turn up the volume for sounds as clear as a bell. It has spring reverb as well!
My son has actually built his own tube amps and told me the tubes are the real deal. The speaker is great and people tell me it will just sound better when it is broken in.

A Great Amp!!!

This is a great amp at an unbelievable price. It sounds extremely close to my Blues Junior. It's fine stock but if you want to take it to the next level immediately or just a little at a time I suggest doing some simple upgrades.

1. I upgraded the speaker to a Celestion Vintage 30.
2. Upgrade the tubes! (I used the Blues Junior upgrade kit on Amazon.)
3. Upgrade the reverb tank to a 3 spring reverb tank that's plug and play for under $30.

These upgrades at once or overtime will make a massive difference and really open this amp up.

Incredible value, but some mods should be done

Very good out of the box. I was lucky and got it with a Celestion A-type speaker, which is a teriffic speaker, clearly superior the stock Celestion Seventy-80. The reverb is nothing to write home about, so I swapped it with a three-spring MOD unit. Much better sound, but still a bit weak. I fixed this by changing the reverb potentiometer with one of higher value (22K instead of 10K, I think), which increased the reverb volume quite a bit, and maybe the decay time too.

Stock, this amp breaks up way, way, way too early. Gain above 2 is heavily distorted, even with single coils. So I changed the preamp tubes. 12AY7 instead of 12AX7 in V1, 5751 instead in V3. I put a 5751 in V2 too, but this probably doesn't do much soundwise. Now the amp is reasonably clean up to 4 with single coils. The gain level is still more than enough on the last half of its range, and much sweeter sounding. I also changed the cheap output tubes for some NOS Russian military-spec units, which is much less noisy and sweeter sounding than the stock units.

After these inexpensive mods, this little amp sounds incredible. More British than American, but damned good. This is not a good amplifier for the price, it is a good amplifier, period.

Monoprice Stage Right 15 watt tube combo

This amp does a lot more than I expected. It has a foot switchable spring reverb, a speaker out which cancels the amps speaker, and an effects loop. This amp has warm crystal clear cleans to raunchy tube overdriven dirties. I expected a practice amp for the price, but this amp does so much more.Read full review...

Portable Tubular Heaven!

Pros: Great price point for a no nonsense very portable gig ready tube combo amp. Cream Tolex is very attractive and the amp sounds fantastic! 12" Celestion Seventy 80 speaker is warm and I'm sure once the amp is broken in more the tubes will be sweetly singing!

Cons: For the price there really are none!

Stage Right 15W Tube Amp

Excellent amp great shipping easy to use At either 15W or 1W settings great tone warmth and clarity no buzz or hum at all No doubt it is the best "real" tube sound I've heard (I have an "open coils" SG and a regular Tele and both sound excellent (no pedals or effects) Just plug in and play Warm smooth and just thick enough or clear crisp Tele almost bell-like . I will recommend this to all the players I know Thanks for an excellent amp RegardsRead full review...

Such a great value. Such a great value.

I was looking for a used amp from one of the most well-known makers. Because I am more of a hobbyist I didn't want to spend tons of money. I have owned high-end amps in the past such as Egnater and Mesa. I'm really stoked on this little amp, it has fantastic
sound, decent sound customizing features and was a heck of a deal..

The little Amp that can do pretty much everything I need

Reverb is shallow. Very versatile amp that can sound great at bedroom volumes as well as cranked for small medium venues with a complete band, including a loud drummer. Plays well with my effects board going through the effects loop which is conveniently located on the rear panel. I find it sounds best in an amp stand. Highly recommend.Read full review...

monoprice 15w amp

good little amp. as advertised. loud enough for bars and small gigs. played it against my friends fender 15w, gave as good as it got. reacts well to different pick-ups and stomp boxes but I have to readjust my pedals when switching amps. recommend for blues, rock. great for the price. had it a short time so can't speak to durability, but looks well made and study.Read full review...
