Newbe looking for New Me with Feng Shui

I purchased the book to help not only to help me and as the title suggests "change my life" for the better. Feng Shui seems to be something that would be beneficial to add to my life. (Doesnt cost much or take much time--just what I am looking for).

I thought that the book was very easy to read and had great examples and black and white drawings.

I think that this book is a good tool to start in your search and is great for someone that is not a total newbe to Feng Shui. It has great ideas, good suggestions and is easy to read.

However, there are some questions that I have that are not answered in the book. The web adddress in the back of the book takes you to a website built to make money.

As with the book, the questions I have are not located on the website and I am not going to pay for the answers. (one example: Some of the examples and layouts do not "fit" my house or room floor plan--especially door location. How do I make that work with the diagrams in the book?)

I will keep looking or find something else but if you already have an understanding of Feng Shui this book would be better for some one that is not fresh off the street.Read full review...

Optimize your personal environment with Feng Shui wisdom/art/science

"Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life" is a decent and not too overwhelming introduction to the wisdom/art/science of western Feng Shui. Lots of interesting tidbits and humor are mixed in with the facts she presents about how to make your life better by the ancient techniques of arranging your environment. These techniques might seem like superstition to some people, but the author provides a brief quote from a physics expert to help non-science types get an idea of why these techniques could work. This book in not intended to be deep or extensive, for more in-depth study of this subject you would need to have other resources - many books or study courses are available.

I discovered that I had used some of these techniques intuitively, even though I never had any formal knowledge or exposure to this information before. The author suggests making a checklist or plan for your space as you read through the book, this is an excellent idea since she has scattered bits of information that relate to other sections of your environment all throughout the book. It is arranged logically with chapter divisions and headings to help you locate specific information about a particular area you want to optimize. Overall the tone is encouraging and helpful. It really is all about optimizing your everyday environment for your best life.

I'm a Realtor in SW Florida. I recently took a Fung Shui class with other agents. I am also reading the book by Karen Rauch. I can firmly say that I am now a believer in the art of 'Wind and Water". It is the study of the placement of things. Fung Shui uses color, shape, lighting, size, and material type to improve your environment. She is very experienced, intelligent, vibrant, a world wide worker, and tireless teacher of Fung Shui. I am so lucky to have met her on two occasions. How any body can believe that you can increase your wealth, relationships, power, etc buy moving your stuff around amazes me.

Saying that you can adjust the energy of your surroundings to get what you want--whether it's financial wealth, professional success, or personal satisfaction, is like saying you can put a dollar bill on your tree and it will grow money. Please don't insult people's intellegence with this book.
