The greatest American "swamp music" - country /rock musicians. These guys started it all with music from the big pink. taken from over 200 songs recorded as a colaberation from Levon, Rick, Garth and Bob Dylan. From Levon's rock a billy roots with Ronnie Hawkins who gathered up the rest of the boys in "the band" while playing the Canadian circiut. These songs were recorded in the basement of a big pink house in woodstock New York. My first impression was that the Grateful Dead must have listened alot to these guys, they sound really close. love this piece of work, American musical history!!!!Read full review...

killer album. The Band is one of those that get forgotten but still a great group. this is one of their best. Mellow at times with a couple of rockers, great songwriting and playing. AMAZING!

i love this band and i had this cd but lost it so this is a much needed replacement. one of the best bands ever. i guess so their called the band.
