Excellent value but console translation is questionable
First off, I love this collection and I've had a lot of fun playing it. I got my money's worth, that's for sure. The 50th Anniversary release includes 14 of the biggest arcade games in history in their original format, plus two extra unlockables. Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man are without question the pinnacle of arcade history and the flagship titles of this release. The usual suspects are also here: Dig Dug, Galaga, Pole Position. But one of the reasons I sought out the 50th Anniversary version was because it included one of my all-time favorites, the elusive Bosconian.
The sights and sounds are exactly as I remember them. The games are presented in console screen size, so that you'll have dark areas on the right and left sides of your TV. You have the option to slightly adjust the screen size, as well as adjust the number of lives you'll start with and the scores needed for bonuses. This is a great way to thoroughly explore these titles in a way you never could when you were spending all your allowance at the arcade.
The only problem is the controls, or rather, the Fire button. When you're cruising through Galaga, Galaxian, Xevious, or Dragon Spirit, you need a sensitive Fire button. The Xbox doesn't provide that. I know darn well I was much better able to collect the maximum bonus on the 3rd level of Galaga when I was playing the stand-up arcade version, even with only one shooter. Using the A button on the Xbox controller gives you two shot bursts every second and a half. It's tough to make that work.
Overall, however, I am pleased with this product. I've purchases quite a few collection Xbox titles, including the Midway and Taito releases, and this one is my favorite.Read full review...
VERY GOOD AND FUN PRODUCT THAT HAS GREAT VARIETY OF GAMES!
THE PRODUCT IS VERY GOOD TO HAVE BEEN USED AND TO BE AN ORIGINAL XBOX GAME. THE GAME INCLUDES A HUGE VARIETY OF FUN CLASSIC GAMES, ALTHOUGH SOME OF THE GAMES SUCH AS PACMAN ARE VERY HARD TO PLAY ON THE XBOX BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF A GOOD OL' FASHIONED JOYSTICK. ALTHOUGH, ALL IN ALL I WOULD DEFFINATELY RECCOMED THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE THAT IS INTERESTED IN PLAYING SOME CLASSIC GAMES.Read full review...

Awe product! I fully recommend it to everyone kid pit there
Its remarkable. They games are still good and entertaining like it was always before 20 years ago. The only thing I disliked about this product is that it does not have all the good games from Namco like I had expected. Nonetheless, it is wtill a state of the art entertaining game for any kid or adult that was or is a hardcore arcade player.Read full review...
Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary (Xbox)
This is a GREAT family oriented game. Back to the 70's/80's FUN. It is a blast from the past ~ only updated. With all the violent video play out there in one form or another, this is a refreshing breath of CLEAN air! Awesome FAMILY fun! We love this game.Read full review...

Just like in the Arcade
These games play just like in the arcade (graphics are good), unlike the Atari anthology series. Mainly purchased it for Galaga and was not disappointed. Pac-man was also one of my favorites and had excellent game play.Read full review...
