One of the lesser stories in the series. Though there is a lot of movement to the plot the incidents causing it seem artificial. The child character running away/getting lost frequently, the predictable trip to NYC, the stressed widow, all are present and all are overly-used used plot devices in the ND series. Added to these, is how confusion arises over how many copies of the map there are and how many people have copies. The bouncy trite feel of events happening along the story-line make the actual finding of the treasure seem somewhat bland and anticlimactic.Read full review...

I bought this book for my 73 year old cousin who loved Nancy Drew books as a kid. She loves to sit & read them when she isn't cooking , cleaning or spending time in her payer room. She has never drove in her life, depends on realities & her kids to take her around.

I grew up reading and loving the Nancy Drew series. Since I always read my teachers, grandmas, and aunts copies I didn't own any of them.
