Just look at that DVD cover. It says all you need to know about National Lampoon's Vacation. Women. Hellscapes. Tennis. And Chevy Chase with the body of a young Arnold Schwarzenegger. In a word: epicness.

Okay, so maybe the cover is a tad misleading.

The movie follows Clark Griswold (Chase) and his family as they embark on a family trip to Wally World. Everything is going great...until about 5 minutes into the movie. At that point, things kinda head downhill for the Griswolds (and straight into the hilarity zone for the audience). There are car accidents, money troubles, a sexy woman in a red convertible, and even a death. Like I said, hilarious. And it all leads up to the final moment when the Griswolds reach Wally World and find out it was all worth it...or not.

The movie is a classic and is definitely worth seeing (if you haven't) and owning (if you don't already).

Note: This version of the movie comes in those cases with the cardboard cover that has the black plastic snap on the left. If you don't like those cases, you might want t steer clear of this version of the DVD.Read full review...

a classic

This is the one that started the franchise. This is also the best of the franchise. Chevy chase plays it right & does a great job. The rest of the cast pitches with excellent performances. This is a very funny movie & that is the reason this has become a classic. The family will be rolling on the floor with laughter as something funny happens at every point of this family vacation gone bad. "Vacation" dvd

Got the pkg in the mail. Opened it up. The cover was just what we ordered (like the picture above), but SURPRISE, it was the wrong dvd inside. It is "Vegas Vacation". So what's next ?

I like the whole dune buggy breaking down idea... Well also did i like the wallyworld instead of cedar point for us here in Ohio.... I can say I would give it an A... I hope you like it as well as I did...

A classic comedy.

Classic comedy that no one should be without. This one and the second film are the best. The third funny as well. But this DVD should be in every comedy fans library.
