Overall great

The package was fine, the disc works perfectly, I'm happy with everything.

For a racing game in 2004, it is awesome. It has a nice city you can explore and the storyline is pretty simple, but enjoyable. Only thing is it doesn't have cops, so if your looking for pursuits and a better story, 100% recommend need for speed most wanted, but this game is also pretty cool if you just want a street racing game.Read full review...

One of my favorite racing games

Tried playing on my PS2 and freezes in the middle of every race. Large prompt that says “loading” and just stays there. Disc appears to be clean with minimal scratches. Tried a couple of other PS2 games with no issue. Waste of money.Read full review...

Classic Game

Great game, hands down one of the best in the NFS series.
The game is based around tuning cars for street races, resuming the Need for Speed: Underground storyline. Need for Speed: Underground 2 provides several new features, such as a broader customization, new methods of selecting races, the "explore" mode (just driving around freely, like the Midnight Club series, in a large city known as "Bayview"). Underground 2 also introduces several SUVs, which could be customized as extensively as other Underground 2 vehicles and used to race against other SUV racers. Brooke Burke is the voice of Rachel Teller, the person who guides the player through the story.Read full review...

Clunky, pretty, nostalgia

Good game if your nostalgic for gaming history. Really makes you appreciate newer games. Fun to get on the game and think about how games have evolved.

That being said, driving mechanics are a bit clunky. Even though it's older it's really pretty. Read full review...

Need for Speed: Underground 2

Although much better than the first Underground title in this franchise, there are still a lot of things that could use improvement. But, all in all, it's great fun to play & has a lot more customization option's than previous Need for Speed titles. I recommend this one to anyone into any kind of racing game or, those that love customization. There are better titles for serious race fans, though.Read full review...

Love this game!!!

This is definitely the best nfs out of all the nfs’s. You can customize so much in this game inside and out and tweak so much on your engine and so much more and the gameplay is so good. There has never been another nfs with this much customization. Every cars control and speed is true to what they actually are in real life. This game being so good and a ps2 game I can’t understand why they wouldn’t make a new one for ps4 with all the customization you can do on the ps2 version. Read full review...

its like a upgraded of "Need for Speed Hot Pursuit".

I'd say its a great game, i would tell my friends bout it for sure. I think its like Need for Speed Hot Prsuit but upgraded. Cause you can earn a cop car in a mission that you can perform in later in the game. Its high speed when you hit the after burners. What i like if you say have raced enough you can hit down on the configuration and cops case ya, once you have raced off enough cops over time they bring in a helicopter. You can upgrade your cars and what i like about it most is you can tweak the brakes and stearing just enough to make your car easyier to handle. You can buy cars in the game if you have enough cash in the game, also you can paint your cars decals i have bones and a skull on my car. I bought mine used, now the thing i dont like bout is i have had a freeze on me but thats only once so far. But i got mine for a couple bucks and i really think its cool enough to spend that and get what this game has to offer.Read full review...

NFS U2

I loved this game, it has many races and options for your car to be decked out. Its the nerd's way of being a virtual tuner. The controls are friendly, and it has varying race types. The only issues I have are that you must travel the map to get from race to race and that the game gets repetitive before you start dealing with the higher end/upper tier cars such as the Nissan 350z. Good game for those who are looking for a racing game.Read full review...

NFS Underground 2 Review

Need for Speed Underground 2 is a very well done street racing game. What I really enjoyed about it was the freedom to roam and do your own thing that it gives you. Anyways, more about that later! Basically there are two modes to the game. The first is the Quick Race mode. You pick a car, pick a track, pick the type of race you want to do, and off you go. This is the multiplayer mode, up to two players. The main chunk of the game though, is Career mode. You start Career mode getting off of a plane in a city called Bayview, where you have just moved. You have a friend in the city name Rachel who leaves her car for you to drive to your new home. Rachel becomes your main contact in the game and gives you all sorts of helpful information along the way. This first ride home is where you experience your first street race in Bayview. After you finish this race you start the game in earnest by picking your first car from the car lot. Here is how the game works from this point on. Basically you get free roam of the city, which is what I talked about earlier. You can just drive around the city exploring and choose to do whatever you wish, whenever you wish, and you have reference tools to help you choose what you want to do next. First you have your message centre. This is where any messages from Rachel or other racers in the city will send you text messages to fill you in on what's happening in the world of street racing in Bayview. Usually the messages reference a hidden race going on somewhere that you can get in on, that there is new inventory available at the car lot or any of the auto shops, or that there is a magazine or dvd cover shoot opportunity available somewhere. The other main tool you have at your disposal is the World Map. Here you can view Bayview in it's entirety, from above. On the map are icons showing everything that is going on in Bayview. It shows icons for the locations of any discovered performance, body, car specialties, and graphics shops, as well as the locations of all discovered car lots. It also shows the positions of other street racers who you can challenge to "Outrun races". What you will mainly be looking for on the map though, are all of the race icons. Purple icons are for Circuit races, green icons are for Sprint races, white icons are for Drift races, dark blue icons are for Drag races, and light blue icons are for Street X races. When you win a race you will always receive a cash payout of some amount, and usually you will also earn reputation points, which help build, naturally, your reputation! My suggestion, especially when starting off the game, is to play to your strengths. I was very good at Circuit, Sprint, and Street X races at first, but I was awful at Drag races and so-so at Drift races. Stick with the races you are good at for a while and earn some cash. Once you have enough cash to start upgrading your car's performance, then go back and try the harder races after. It will make life a lot easier! Once you start winning a lot of races you will be offered sponsorships by various car manufacturers. Take the deal you feel suits you best and keep on racing! You will earn about 4 sponsorships throughout your career with each once getting progressively better than the last. These sponsorships earn you a lot more cash and they also unlock the meat and potatoes races of the game, the U.R.L. (Underground Racing League) races. These races are longer and they take place on an actual race track with a lot moRead full review...
