Old school goes polygonal

I still play Super Mario Bros. on my NES. New Super Mario Bros. gives me reason to let that 20 year old machine rest. The game is great, mixing the old side-scrolling style of play with a modern look and new abilities. You also have branching path choices and bonuses, in the vein of Super Mario Bros. 3. Fun game, missed this one years ago.

Though it's 10 years old now, this is a great game, too bad I overlooked this one years ago.

Super Mario Bros. for DSi

We bought this game for our 11 year old daughter for her DSi. I had read different comments online about this game not working on the DSi system and sure enough the first (brand new) game I bought off ebay did not work. I contacted Nintendo customer service and found out that there are counterfeit or knock off games being sold by other companies which will work in a DS system but not a DSi. The best way to tell if it is an authentic Nintendo game is if the number on the CARTRIDGE ends in USA. All DS games put out by Nintendo work in the DSi system.

The game is awesome and perfect for our 11 year old daughter. It brings us back to our childhood when the original Nintendo came out. Of course, they've made some upgrades since. :)Read full review...

ITS MARIO TIME YET AGAIN!!!!!

1st of this game is just plain fun. simple as that. now too break it down more complex:
graphics:holy crap you would honestly think this was a psp game. no joke. these are some of the crispest graphics i have seen on the ds yet. and the framerate never slows down. 10/10
gameplay:mario's gameplay has always been perfect and it doesnt change in this title. the controls are just as well as any game out there.10/10
ds capabilites:and what i mean by that is how well it uses the ds's 2 screens to its advantage. and it does it pretty well. metroid does alot better though. you move with the D-pad. therefore the only thing the bottom screen does is it shows how far you are in a level i.e. on a huge line, a mario head is on it like a arrow.and it shows how many stars you have for that level. and just for your info. there is 3 stars per level. and you use them to buy different routse to the castle. 7.5/10
naustalga factor: this game really does feel like im back as a little kid playin mario 1 on the nes! in a good way. the levels are still basic yet intersting and sometimes challenging. and there is new power-ups to add to the fun factor. 1 is a shell similar to a koopa-koopas shell which is really fun killing them with by the way. and another one is the mini-mario powerup. it shrinks you down to get to certain areas of the level. and the last is the super-huge-mario power-up. it makes him ginormous and can just run through the entire level and never gets hurt.10/10
this game certainly does have a good length too it. it feels exactly right for a mario game. the boss battels are great and they are all fresh and differnet.
overall i would give this game a 10.5/10 if it was possible. but since its not i shall give it a 10/10.
it is an instant buy for any mario fans or nintendo fans. and i truly believe this will be the killer app for the ds.

How Do Ya Like Them Mushrooms!

I can't get enough of this game! I couldn't believe the graphics! 10/10!

They totally striped the original of what it's got and started over again! WOW! Oh, and the sound... GREAT! 10/10!
<br>Game play is not repetative! Don't see that in many games! Bosses are all totaly different. So are the levels! For the gameplay 10/10!

The overal conclusion on this game is that it's... AWSOME! Every level is unique! Sand, forest, lava, beaches, grassy plains, icey mountains, rocky cliffs, clouds, and some water make this game what it is! A couple of complaints.

~Mini Games are horible if you don't play multiplayer.

A true classic. Slightly updated graphics to make it appear a bit more 3D and added the newer intros but underneath, the game play is the same.

Old School Rocks!

I always loved the Classic mario games, they were so fun and it was hard to find all the little stars and coins, Now Mario is Back and better then ever, this is a sweet game with loads of old and new stuff. I personally own this game and i can tell you i can spend an easy 5 hours just trying to find all the star coins.

The Story is, Baby Bowser kidnaps Peach and you, Mario, have to save her. Its really like the Super Mario Brothers 2. but the game play is awesome with all the different types of items. my personal favorite is the mega mushroom, it's better then the super starman, because you get really big and can smash everything, and i mean everything. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys this type of game.

It is a really fun game to play. It is a nice twist on the Mario Bros classic games. I have played the old retro Mario Bros games and this has a lot of twists and turns that makes it very enjoyable to play. There are some new characters as well as the classic ones and there are also new types of power ups as well. Mario can grow really big, he can shrink really small and wear a turtle shell that he can hide in. The game also has alternate exits from a level that allows you open up new areas.
