Twisted and scary, vulgar but unique!
This storyline was more twisted then I really wanted but I completed the book. It helped to complete the book. Dean draws the readers into a highly sensitive plot of mind control, abuse, power hungry and includes religious grandeur. Three of these principle characters were very believeable. Three others; you can only hope they are there.
Night Chills might catch wrong. Maybe I was believing something very decent about Dean Koontz. Maybe i missed some of his hardline books. I was surprised, sickened, and thought about just stopping where I was and trash the book. I am glad I continued. Dawson, Salsbury and Klinger are characters you know can exist. You really want to forget people like Salsbury exist. The stance that some people take in protecting criminals can be so vivid in this book. Bottomline the book hits home. The tragedy and fragile realty of a person like Mark; can rip your insides out. If that is what Dean was after; he succeeded. I do not think I will be forgetting the emothions he created in his book. I hope always to understand that this was fiction. But my heart tells me he has hit a subject close to reality. Be prepared for a tited reality into the twilight zone. Deans Books are worth the time to read. His approach is always changing. He does bring it together here.Read full review...

Disturbing sexual content.
The rape and sexually explicit content disturbed me more than the underlying theme.

GREAT for All D.K. fans
Totally different from other D.K. books I've read.. Kind of STephen King'ish but not too much. some parts are a little too twisted (reminds me of S.K. book "Needful Things")
Great ending with a book that involves mystery, horror, happiness and more!Read full review...
Night Chills by Dean Koontz
Very good book. Although it is not as great as the Odd Thomas books,or many of the more recent books, it is still classic Dean Koontz and very suspenseful.
This one is a psychological thriller
I read this several times over. Talk about a criminal mind! This book has it all. There are some rape scenes in it, and some more killing. Still an awesome work.
